As a mother of 2 year old and a four year old, sleep is a valuable act. Anyone who is a parent understands this, but I just didn’t care about it when I started this book at 10:30 at night. I kept telling myself one more chapter, and the next thing I knew, it was 4:30 in the morning. I was basically a zombie the next day as I took my children to a movie. Did I have regrets about getting 4 hours of sleep? Absolutely not! Dominic and Luke were worth it all. I love them! I love this story! And, I cannot wait for you to meet them on July 11 when this book releases.

4.5 Who Needs Sleep Crowns for Fast Connection
I started this book at 10:30 at night, thinking I would read for a couple hours, go to bed, and finish reading in the morning; however, I sat up until 4:30 in the morning to finish Fast Connection. I simply couldn’t put it down, sleep be damned. Dominic and Luke sucked me down the rabbit hole, and I couldn’t come out until I knew how their story would end.
The characters of this book are what first drew me into the story and are really what made me love Fast Connection as much as I did. And, of all the characters, Dominic is just the best. I absolutely adored him. He has this way of being abrasive, often saying the wrong thing or reacting without thinking, and I just don’t care. In fact, I found him more endearing, and he made me laugh-out-loud several times throughout the book (by 1% I was laughing). I feel like he affected me in a similar way that he affected Luke. Just like Luke, I want Dominic to make the transition to the profession he wants, I want his family life to get better, and I want him to stop feeling so lost. Unlike with Dominic, it is not instantaneous adoration for Luke, really because of how he treats Dominic, but he grew on me. His gruffness and stand-offish behavior makes sense as his characterization is developed throughout the book, and by the end of the book I love him just as much as Dominic. What ultimately makes me love these two the most is their relationship. Luke and Dominic make each other better. Luke supports his goals and gives him confidence that he can achieve his goals. He is constantly there to give Dominic the nudge he needs in order to reach his goals. But this isn’t just a one-sided relationship, as Luke gets just as much from Dominic. Luke, as I said before, is pretty grumpy and rude, especially to Dominic at the beginning of the book, but, as the plot progresses, Luke starts to open up emotionally. There are times in the books that he behaves in a manner that is uncomfortable for him, but he completes these actions because he knows it is what Dominic needs to feel loved and secure. As soon as Luke recognizes that he cares for Dominic, he starts to break down the walls he has created to compartmentalize his life, even if it complicates the carefully structured life he lives. At the end of the book, they have both made each other better people, and their relationship is truly one of mutual love and support.
Additionally, the use of secondary characters is also done well. Not only do they serve the purpose of pushing the plot forward for the main characters and developing the characterization of Luke and Dominic, but they are engaging and love-able. I also love a good Kai and Garrett cameo!
The plot and pacing of the story truly allows the reader to see Luke and Dominic grow and evolve as individuals and as a couple. Their story isn’t rushed and is about more than just sex. The progression has a natural flow, and, even though the conflict isn’t some huge explosion, it is realistic and fits with the characterization that has been established by the authors.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, surprisingly, more than the first book in the series, Strong Signal, and it really boils down to the fact that I love Dominic and Luke. Their relationship and evolution as characters is just phenomenal, and I am secretly hoping this won’t be the end of the series or co-writing projects by Megan Erickson and Santino Hassell.
After a decade of serving in the Army, everyone still expects me to be Dominic ‘Nicky’ Costigan–the skirt-chasing player. They don’t know I’ve been spending my days trying to figure out my post-military life. Including how to pick up guys.
When I meet Luke on a hookup app, he makes it clear it’s for one-night only. That’s fine with me, because I’m down to see what this silver fox can do. But after I arrive at his doorstep, it doesn’t take long to realize we have serious chemistry, and we end up meeting again.
He’s got more walls around his heart than a military base, but I think he’s as addicted to me as I am to him. He can’t resist me for long. I mean, who can? Except Luke’s rules exist for a reason, and when I test his limits, things get complicated. Maybe too complicated.

About the Authors:
Megan Erickson is a USA Today bestselling author of romance that sizzles. Her books have a touch of nerd, a dash of humor, and always have a happily ever after. A former journalist, she switched to fiction when she decided she likes writing her own endings better.
She lives in Pennsylvania with her very own nerdy husband and two kids. Although rather fun-sized, she’s been told she has a full-sized personality. When Megan isn’t writing, she’s either lounging with her two cats named after John Hughes characters or… thinking about writing.
