My musings…

Kennedy Ryan is such a phenomenal author.  Her words have movement and are packed with emotion. I feel and see every aspect of her stories.  More than being an amazing writer, her stories discuss relevant social issues.  She doesn’t shy away from the hard, and she doesn’t tell you what to believe.  She presents ideas to challenge you, make you talk about the issues, and make you into someone new, which is the sole purpose of literature.

Think you know what it’s like being a baller’s girl?

You don’t.

My fairy tale is upside down.

A happily never after.

I kissed the prince and he turned into a fraud.

I was a fool, and his love – fool’s gold.

Now there’s a new player in the game, August West.

One of the NBA’s brightest stars.

Fine. Forbidden.

He wants me. I want him.

But my past, my fraudulent prince, won’t let me go.

Karina Halle really did it with Viktor.  He may be my favorite hero yet, and I just loved his journey with Maggie. He is dirty and sexy and sweet, and, how, he made me swoon HARD.  This truly might be my favorite Karina Halle novel to date, a definite must read.

**A standalone romance inspired by the classic film, Roman Holiday**

I never believed in fairy-tales.

Never held out for Prince Charming.

Growing up poor in small-town California as the oldest of six siblings, I knew I would never ride off into the sunset with anyone. That was even more apparent when a senseless tragedy took the lives of my parents, forcing me to become the sole guardian of our dysfunctional household at the mere age of twenty-three.

Then a fateful encounter literally brought Prince Charming to my doorstep.

At first I thought Viktor was just your average businessman passing through, albeit obscenely handsome, six-foot-five, blue-eyed, and mysteriously rich.

But soon I discovered the truth behind Viktor’s façade.

Beneath his quiet, enigmatic gaze and cocky charm, is a man who is running away from who he really is. A role he’d rather not fulfill.

He is Viktor of House Nordin, His Royal Highness, The Crown Prince of Sweden.

Yet uncovering Viktor’s secret was only the first step.

I didn’t expect to fall in love with him.

I didn’t expect to have my whole life turned upside down.

When you’re from two different worlds, can your hearts meet somewhere in the middle?

Or do happily-ever-afters only exist in fairy-tales?

I have not read this book. I do not have an ARC. The cover and the synopsis alone have sold me on it, and I will absolutely be one-clicking on release day. I cannot wait to see what it is all about.

I loved him from the age of sixteen.
Hated him from the age of eighteen.
He disappeared at the age of nineteen.
We started off as enemies, then fast became lovers.
But our story isn’t a happily ever after.
It was a story of a king and a peasant. Can you guess which I was?
I knew we weren’t meant to be.
You see, he fell in love with her first. He loved me last.
I’m not someone’s second choice.
Not even for the boy who stole my heart.
I’m someone’s first.
Now, I just have to remember that.
