My Musings…

I really enjoy Piper Rayne’s stories.  They are funny and sexy with lovable casts of characters.  I’m particularly excited for this bad-boy single dad.  He certainly has the immature side down pat, and I am incredibly anxious to see his fatherly side but also to watch him get wrangled.  Can’t wait!

Full review to come Wednesday!

Synopsis:

Turn-ons…

Party girls.

Platinum blondes.

Zero expectations.

I used to think that if you could combine all three into one female, you’d have the perfect woman. The other guys in the Single Dads Club razz me for wearing the crown of the forever bachelor. The one who’ll be in his seventies chasing down young hotties in his wheelchair.

Then why the hell does Ava Pearson—an outdoorsy girl, a brunette, and a woman who screams stability and responsibility—seem to be the only woman on my mind lately?

Especially when I’ve got enough obligations without adding any complications to the mix—my son, my bar…well, that’s about it. But that’s enough for a guy like me.

It’s the cupcakes. It’s gotta be the cupcakes she bakes that keep me coming back for more. After all, the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, right? Well, it’s apparently a direct target to his dick, too.

Did I forget to mention that she’s my buddy’s daughter…another member’s daughter?

Ava might say she can handle being friends-with-benefits, but I’m not sure she can. Unfortunately for her, I’m too selfish of a prick to care—until I do.

My musings…

I am a sucker for a forbidden office romance. Add to it the writing of Ilsa Madden Mills and the steamy goodness that comes from Tia Louise, and readers have pure gold!  This one is going to be so good, so make sure you check it out.

Full review to come on Monday.

Synopsis:

The first rule of office romance is don’t do it—especially if your dream is to hold the anchor spot on the nightly news and your boss is trying to get you fired.

But one look at Cade Hill, the sexy new sports director, and uptight reporter Rebecca Fieldstone is daydreaming about other things.

Sex in his office…

Sex in the on-set kitchen…

Sex in the supply closet…

She can’t stop thinking about the former NFL quarterback and how perfect he’d look between her sheets—except he’s an arrogant jerk with a huge… ego.

He’s the last guy she’d ever have a one-night stand with.

Cade Hill draws a thick professional line on office romance—until it comes to the hyper-focused Rebecca. He wants her, and he gets his wish when a chance encounter has them having the hottest sex of their lives.

It’s just a hook-up, she says.

When can we do it again? he says.

With Rebecca determined to keep Cade in the friend zone, it’s going to be an uphill battle for Cade to convince her he’s the last guy she’ll ever want.

THE LAST GUY is the first white-hot CONTEMPORARY ROMANTIC COMEDY from Wall Street Journal bestselling author Ilsa Madden-Mills and Tia Louise. It features Fireball-fueled hookups, Doritos Locos Tacos, attack monkeys, toddlers in tiaras, and one fabulous drag queen. Prepare for frantic clicking (or page flipping!) and smoking-hot sexytimes all the way to the out-of-this-world happily-ever-after.

My musings…

Part of the reason I one-click Kate Canterbary’s books is because the writing is spectacular, what I like to call smart-writing.  I feel like with each word readers can see the care she took in crafting another Walsh sibling book.  I know that Riley’s book has been a highly anticipated read, and it is finally arriving.  It’s going to be amazing!

Full review to come on Tuesday.

Synopsis:

Some things have to fall apart before they can be put back together.

Two lonely hearts.

Just once, she’d like
to be someone’s first choice.

She’s strong-willed
and spunky, but she’s left picking up the pieces from her ex’s lies and
manipulations, and daydreaming about taking a scalpel to his scrotum.

Flying under the radar
is what he does best.

He’s laid-back and
loyal, but he wants the most off-limits woman in his world, and nothing will
ever make that a reality.

An arrangement of
mutual benefit.

Two months, four
dates.

Five, if things go
well.

Five at the most.

But possibly six.

Definitely no more
than six dates.

Only the appearance of
a romantic relationship is required, and they expect nothing more from their
time together. There will be none of those
benefits involved.

One wild weekend.

After waking up in bed
together—very naked and even more hungover—the terms and conditions of their
arrangement no longer apply. Now they’re faced with something riskier than
exposing their fake relationship:
letting go of the past and zipping up the future.

Some things have to fall apart before they can be put back together.

 Releasing Tuesday, June 13, 2017

My musings…

My first introduction to both of these writers was their first co-written novel Porn Star, which was completely fantastic (seriously, read it if you haven’t). I loved the characters, the story, the steamy times, and the unexpected heart that came with the story.  It was simply fantastic.  My love of the first book is what makes me ecstatic for Hot Cop, and I expect it will give me more of the same.

Full review to come on Tuesday.

Synopsis:

From NYT Bestselling Author, Laurelin Paige and USA Today Bestselling Author, Sierra Simone comes a steamy contemporary romantic follow-up to last year’s bestseller P*rn Star.

You have the right to remain sexy.

Anything you say can and will be used to get you in my bed.

You have the right to use my body to give yourself a delirious, life-changing orgasm.

If you have trouble…don’t worry, I’m a bit of an expert in that department.

There’s nothing ‘thin’ about my blue line, if you catch my drift, and trust me, I know how to put those handcuffs to good use.

***

Livia Ward wants a baby before she’s thirty. And even though Officer Chase Kelly is exactly the kind of cocky jerk this librarian has sworn off, he is undeniably hot. Both of them think they can give each other what they want–a few nights of fun for Officer Kelly, a no-strings baby for Livia–but this hot cop is about to learn that sex, babies, and love don’t always play by the rules.

My musings…

Staci Hart is an automatic one-click author for me.  Her stories are always so well written, and each chapter is infused with so much heart.  I also love that her stories are different from each other. What really makes me excited for this one in particular is the heroine.  She seems so bad-a**, and that is one of my qualifications for a female character.

Full review to come on Thursday.

Synopsis:

Nothing good comes after the third date.

See, date three is the crucial point when things get real, which is exactly why I bounce out the door, twiddling my fingers at whatever poor boy I’ve left behind. Because if I stick around, one of three things will happen: he’ll profess his undying love, he gets weird and stalky, or I’ll go crazy. Like, Sid and Nancy crazy. Like, chase-him-through-the-streets-begging-him-to-love-me crazy.

Seriously, it’s better for everyone this way.

So when I meet Bodie, I figure it’ll be the same as it ever was. It doesn’t matter that he doesn’t put a single string on me. Doesn’t matter that he’s funny and smart and jacked and can play my body like a grand piano. Because even though I’m built for love, love has only carved me up like a Christmas ham.

Resistance is something I can only hang on to for so long, and he has persistence in spades. But my heart isn’t as safe as I want to believe, and neither is his. And the second I ignore my cardinal rule is the second I stand to lose him forever.
