#MCM Gray Grayson from “The Friend Zone” by Kristen Callihan

IMG_2863 My musings…

The Game On series was my first introduction to the world of Kristen Callihan, and after finishing the first book, The Hook Up, I was sure I never wanted to leave.  I loved Drew and Anna, and I wasn’t sure how they would be replaced.  Then this amazingly talented writer introduced me to Gray Grayson and Ivy Mackenzie.  They had all the chemistry of Anna and Drew but had a lighter, more fun element to their relationship.  I had no idea who to choose for my favorite hero, Captain America or Thor?   In fact, when deciding who I would choose for the post today, I had to enlist the help of my friend Ann.  Her response was “GrayGray 4 Eva!”.   So, ultimately, Gray Grayson wins out for the #mcm spot this week.

Why do I love him?

You know how there are some characters who you wish were real? Well, this is Gray Grayson for me.  What I wouldn’t give for some text message banter from this man.  The jokes never stop coming, but what I love most is that his jokes and comebacks show intelligence, which is just one more reason to love him  More than his humor and wit, I love that he is so caring.  From cooking to taking care of IvyMac and his fellow football players, Gray-Gray is an all-around good guy.   Let’s not forgot that he is also incredibly attractive and fit.  I mean, Ivy likens him to Thor, and even without the description, the cover alone is enough to make me salivate.  Gray’s skills in the kitchen, on the field, and in the bedroom only add to his finer qualities and make him a fantastic fictional hero.

My favorite memories of Gray-Gray…

  1. Text messages with Ivy – all of them
  2. Gray and Ivy meeting for the first time at the airport
  3. The actual banter between the two of them to create their chemistry
  4. Dancing with her
  5. Cooking soup
  6. Dumping the two girls at the bar to take Ivy home
  7. Gray and Rolondo’s conversation in the locker room
  8. Phone sex and real sex being off-the-charts hot
  9. Supporting Ivy in all decisions – “Every Inch”
  10. The epilogue providing so many feelings, one of the best I’ve ever read

If you have not met Gray Grayson yet, then you are missing out, and you need to fix this immediately!  A hot, smart, supportive, athletic hero is what every reader needs in his or her life, and, while you’re at it, you should pick up Drew and Dex’s book.  You won’t be disappointed!

Synopsis:thefriendzone

Gray doesn’t make friends with women. He has sex with them. Until Ivy.

The last thing star tight-end Gray Grayson wants to do is drive his agent’s daughter’s bubblegum pink car. But he needs the wheels and she’s studying abroad. Something he explains when she sends him an irate text to let him know exactly how much pain she’ll put him in if he crashes her beloved ride. Before he knows it, Ivy Mackenzie has become his best texting bud. But then Ivy comes home and everything goes haywire. Because the only thing Gray can think of is being with Ivy.

Ivy doesn’t have sex with friends. Especially not with a certain football player. No matter how hot he makes her…

Gray drives Ivy crazy. He’s irreverent, sex on a stick, and completely off limits. Because, Ivy has one golden rule: never get involved with one of her father’s clients. A rule that’s proving harder to keep now that Gray is doing his best to seduce her. Her best friend is fast becoming the most irresistible guy she’s ever met.

Which means Gray is going to have to use all his skills to win Ivy’s heart. Game on.
