#MCM Ian from “Heart-Shaped Hack” by Tracey Garvis-Graves

Why does he deserve this honor?

Ian is one of my favorite heroes that I have ever read about.  He is incredibly quick-witted, as shown through the dialogue created by Tracey Garvis Graves, and he goes after who or what he wants with complete focus.  He also deserves to be the #MCM because he protects Kate and wants her happiness, even if it costs him his own.  Ian and his interactions will cause you to fall in love with him and this story.  If you haven’t had the pleasure of reading this book, check out the synopsis and purchase link below.

Why do I love him?

Ian is one of my favorite heroes that I have ever read about.  I fell in love with him when the first words came out of his mouth, because what really makes him a great hero is his intelligence.  As I sit here and consider what I can recall about him after all this time, it would be the witty dialogue and intellect.  I couldn’t tell you what he looks like or if he is an alpha, but I can tell you how sweet he is to Kate and how witty he is when conversing with her.  Ian is the perfect example of how I prefer brains of beauty, which is why he has been selected for the fictional #MCM award.

My favorite memories of Ian…IMG_2138

  1. Playing Robin Hood by donating money to the food shelter
  2. Hacking her dating site
  3. Victoria Secret shopping cart, really the whole conversation
  4. Numbering their kisses
  5. The sexual innuendos when talking about hacking
  6. Taking care of Kate when she is sick
  7. Text messages
  8. Hotness in the bedroom (skimming the book again made me remember how good he is)
  9. Hacking for the betterment of others
  10. Sacrificing to keep Kate safe and happy

I only skimmed through 37% of this book before I got 10 favorite memories, so there is so much more of Ian to love in this book.  If you haven’t read this book yet, you must, even if it is to find out what other amazing memories this author has created! And, as a bonus, the sequel to the book, White-Hot Hack was just released, so you don’t even need to wait like the rest of us did to finish Kate and Ian’s story.

Synopsis:

When Kate Watts abandoned her law career to open a food pantry in Northeast Minneapolis, she never dreamed it would be this difficult. Facing the heartbreaking prospect of turning hungry people away, she is grateful for the anonymous donations that begin appearing at the end of each month. Determined to identify and thank her secret benefactor, she launches a plan and catches Ian —a charismatic hacker with a Robin Hood complex—in the act.

Ian intrigues Kate in a way no man ever has. But after learning he’s snooped around on her personal computer, she demands retribution. Impressed with her tolerance and captivated by her spirit, he complies and begins to slowly charm his way past her defenses. Time spent with Ian is never boring, and Kate soon finds herself falling for the mysterious hacker.

But Ian has enemies and they’re growing restless. In the hacking world, exploiting a target’s weakness is paramount, and no price is too high to stop an attack. And when Kate learns exactly how much Ian has paid, she’ll discover just how strong her love is for the man who has hacked his way into her heart.
