Filthy English, by Ilsa Madden-Mills, is another fantastic read that follows the second-chance romance of Dax and Remi. What I love most about the book is that the author is able to create incredibly hot and erotic scenes, yet infuse it with love and vulnerability. Her use of dual point-of-view allows the reader to really see the true emotions of each character. Even when they aren’t expressing their emotions to each other verbally, the reader knows what they are feeling and thinking as they are engaging in sex and other fun and dirty activities. The readers’s knowledge of their emotions only adds to the heat of the scene. Trust me when I say, it would be hot without the emotions. The acts alone have smoke radiating off of my Kindle, but, with the added emotion, it becomes scorching.
The other aspects of these scenes that I love is that the author puts in this little acts or details that could easily be read over as insignificant; however, they add so much to the scene and the development of their relationship. This is where the reader gets to see how much these characters care about each other, even if they refuse to acknowledge it. This type of writing also speaks to my English-dork side. These subtle yet important character traits speaks to the level of writing of the author and how she is able to create heat while also showcasing the heartache they feel for what they think can never be.
This book is truly gold! It has the perfect blend of heat and sweetness and heartache and joy. It should absolutely be on your TBR list! It is certainly a #MBtopRec!

He sucked in a shuddering breath. ‘Think hard about his, Remi, because I can’t tell you no…’
He groaned at my touch, his head going back, his entire body tightening in anticipation of what he could clearly read in my eyes. I wanted him. I wanted him fiercely, with the kind of passion I believed few people ever experienced.
I bent over, took him in my mouth and sucked, sliding my tongue over his long shaft from base to tip. My hand snaked around his hardness and tugged as I devoured him…
My mouth explored him, tasted him, finding places I remembered, mapping out new ones.
He tried to pull me up. ‘Remi,’ he said hoarsely.
I raised my face to him. ‘You want me to stop?’
His chest rose. ‘No. I-I can’t breathe. I-what are you doing to me?’
‘What I’ve wanted since the night I kissed you at Masquerade.’
He slid his thumb across my lips. ‘This will change things. I don’t know how it will end. I can’t promise you anything. This is all I can give you…’
He pulled me to my feet, cupped my face. ‘But I don’t want you on your knees for me – not this time. I want you…’
With his eyes burning into my skin, I walked over to the wardrobe and pulled out my strand of pearls and looped them around my neck. Long and creamy, they hung past the V between my breasts.
‘You like?’ I asked softly, turning to face him as I threaded them through my fingers.
He came toward me, a majestic male, his heated gaze never leaving mine. ‘I do.'”
You will have to keep reading to find out how the rest of the scene plays out, and, trust me, it is hot. You may need to sit in front of a fan while reading it.
Two weeks before her wedding, Remi Montague’s fiancé drops her faster than a drunken sorority girl in stilettos. Armed with her best friend and a bottle of tequila, she hops a plane to London to drown her sorrows before fall semester begins at Whitman University.
She didn’t plan on attending a masquerade party.
She sure didn’t plan on waking up next to the British bad boy who broke her heart three years ago—the devastatingly handsome and naked Dax Blay. Furthermore, she has no clue how they acquired matching tattoos.
Once back at Whitman together, they endeavor to pretend they never had their night of unbridled passion in London.
But that’s damn hard to do when you live in the same house…
One night. Two damaged hearts. The passion of a lifetime.
