Sarah’s Musings… 5 With Love CROWNS Well-Suited wraps up what has been my favorite Staci Hart novel. Like its predecessors, it is the tale of a unique and brilliant woman who dares to push beyond her comforts and control to really live a life that is worth living. Kate is emotionally aloof. She doesn’t ascribe to feelings and struggles to connect. She thrives on order and logics and rules. This is where she is comfortable, and I got it. I am also more at ease when I know the rules and operate within them. That being said, I loved Kate’s evolution, seeing her come alive and open her heart. Theo couldn’t have been more perfect. Just like his predecessors, he never seeks to change Kate or make her different. He accepts and loves every part of her. He emboldens her, makes her brave. Each of the heroes, Theo included, has been true secondary characters to their leading ladies, working hard to show them the worth that they have on their on, independent of them. It is refreshing and perfect. What really sealed the deal for me was the idea that love isn’t the same for everyone. Couples and families make their own rules, finding what works for them. In a world, where we often want to pass judgment based on our rules, we overlook the happiness and love that exists, simply because we don’t understand. Well-Suited exemplifies that love exists in my forms – words and actions. Love is not defined by one set of rules. It is the embodiment of understanding and providing for each other in equal measure in any form that is satisfying and brings happiness, and I was enamored by the themes of this book just as much as the characters. I have not for one minute been quiet about my love for this series. It has been its own little tiny nugget of feminism in this romantic world. It has been journey of four friends who have resonated with me. I have seen myself in each of them. I have understood their insecurities, and have grown in self love and acceptance. It has been one of the best series I’ve read because it centered around love – familial, romantic, and sisterly. I’m truly sad to say goodbye to these phenomenal female characters. ARC received in exchange for an honest review.
Chemistry is my love language. I’ve always been able to separate feelings from chemosignals. A shot of dopamine, a dash of serotonin, and a sprinkle of oxytocin—and bam. You’re in love. And when egg meets sperm, you’re pregnant. I couldn’t even be surprised as I stared down at the little blue plus sign, because I knew exactly when and how, and with whom it happened. When: approximately five weeks ago. Who: one night stand. How: prophylactic malfunction. The upside? I don’t have to go looking for a suitable mate. Genetically, he’s the cream of the crop. His musculature is a study in symmetry and strength, his height imposing and dominant. He is a man who thrives on control and command, a man who survives on intelligence and resourcefulness. A perfect male specimen. And the whole package is wrapped up in a flawlessly tailored suit. I’m having this baby, and he insists we’re well-suited to have it together. And what’s worse? He wants more, in the way of love and marriage. But love isn’t real. It’s just a product of chemistry. And if he changes my mind about that, we’re both in trouble.

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life — a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can’t forget that. She’s also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She’s been a wife, though she’s certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She’s also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she’s been drinking whiskey. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.
