#SoontoDrop Seven New Books I’m Excited to Share with You

IMG_3095

Usually, I do individual book posts for my #SoontoDrop books, since they are my most anticipated books of the week; however, this week is a huge release week.  There are seven books that I am eager to share with you and one book that I have yet to read but have cleared my schedule to read it on its release day.  All seven of these books will be highlighted on this blog throughout the week.  So I figured instead of bombarding you with a million posts today, I would give you a little summary of why I am excited for the book, a synopsis, and then a purchase link.  Be on the lookout throughout the week as each of these books will be featured by themselves.  You could also win one of the e-book copies by participating in the giveaway I’m running this week!

5 Who Stole the Diamond CROWNS

Three things about “The Sapphire Affair”:

1. Lauren Blakely’s plots are always complex, especially in the suspense-romance genre. There are many sub-plots to her main romantic plot. Her ability to weave these plots together seamlessly and among multiple books speaks to her ability to create engaging stories that draw readers in to the mystery being solved as well as the romance.
2. Jake is the best kind of hero. He cares for his family, rights wrongs perpetrated by criminals, and knows how to take care of a woman with a 3:1 ratio. He is a giver, and what is better than that?
3. The prologue immediately draws the reader into the story, and the plot ends at the perfect point in the plot. The reader feels as though the relationship has been established and settled between Steph and Jake, but then Steph makes a discovery that destroys it all. It makes the reader very anxious to see how this discovery is not only going to affect their relationship but also the newly established partnership to solve the mystery of the gems.

***This is book one in a duet.

Synopsis:

Bounty hunter Jake Harlowe knows how to track a criminal. So when a group of swindled shareholders hires him to trail their former CEO, Jake expects a quick trip to the Cayman Islands to close another case. Until a devastatingly beautiful woman gets in the way.

Steph Anderson is visiting the Caymans for a rock climbing and dive trip—or so she tells Jake. She’s really trying to find out whether or not her stepfather embezzled money from his company. The last thing Steph needs is the distraction of a sexy, charming man whose kisses drive her wild.

Soon, the pair discover they’re after the same target—and millions in jewels. While Jake can’t be certain Steph isn’t working for her stepfather, and Steph can’t be certain Jake isn’t after the diamonds for himself, they can agree the heat between them is intense, and neither can deny the passion for long.

But the morning after, Steph discovers that she just might have slept with the enemy, and now she’ll have to outwit him to get eerything she needs…

4.5 Who Needs Sleep CROWNS

I started this book at 10:30 at night, thinking I would read for a couple hours, go to bed, and finish reading in the morning; however, I sat up until 4:30 in the morning to finish Fast Connection. I simply couldn’t put it down, sleep be damned. Dominic and Luke sucked me down the rabbit hole, and I couldn’t come out until I knew how their story would end.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, surprisingly, more than the first book in the series, Strong Signal, and it really boils down to the fact that I love Dominic and Luke. Their relationship and evolution as characters is just phenomenal, and I am secretly hoping this won’t be the end of the series or co-writing projects by Megan Erickson and Santino Hassell.

Synopsis:

After a decade of serving in the Army, everyone still expects me to be Dominic ‘Nicky’ Costigan–the skirt-chasing player. They don’t know I’ve been spending my days trying to figure out my post-military life. Including how to pick up guys.

When I meet Luke on a hookup app, he makes it clear it’s for one-night only. That’s fine with me, because I’m down to see what this silver fox can do. But after I arrive at his doorstep, it doesn’t take long to realize we have serious chemistry, and we end up meeting again.

He’s got more walls around his heart than a military base, but I think he’s as addicted to me as I am to him. He can’t resist me for long. I mean, who can? Except Luke’s rules exist for a reason, and when I test his limits, things get complicated. Maybe too complicated.

5 Hopeful CROWNS

Wow!!! Just wow!!! I love this book. YA books do not normally resonate with me, but this one sure did.

1. Ginger Scott captures the essence of football-the family, the pressure to win, the love of the game. After reading this book, I need it to be football season now!
2. Her writing is on point. It is well-written and discusses current social topics. I also know writing is good when I go teaser crazy! Her words were so beautiful that I had to create images to match their beauty.
3. Nico!!! I love him. He is so beautifully characterized, a true beacon of hope in this story.

You absolutely need this story in your life!

Synopsis:

Nico Medina’s world is eleven miles away from mine. During the day, it’s a place where doors are open—where homes are lived in, and neighbors love. But when the sun sets, it becomes a place where young boys are afraid, where eyes watch from idling cars that hide in the shadows and wicked smoke flows from pipes.

West End is the kind of place that people survive. It buries them—one at a time, one way or another. And when Nico was a little boy, his mom always told him to run.

I’m Reagan Prescott—coach’s daughter, sister to the prodigal son, daughter in the perfect family.
Life on top.
Lies.
My world is the ugly one. Private school politics and one of the best high school football programs in the country can break even the toughest souls. Our darkness plays out in whispers and rumors, and money and status trump all. I would know—I’ve watched it kill my family slowly, strangling us for years.

In our twisted world, a boy from West End is the only shining light.
Quarterback.
Hero.
Heart.
Good.
I hated him before I needed him.
I fell for him fast.
I loved him when it was almost too late.

When two ugly worlds collide, even the strongest fall. But my world…it hasn’t met the boy from West End.

5 Crushing on the Herione CROWNS

Adoration.  I simply adore this book. The combination of funny, sexy, and sweet left me no choice but to give this book 5 stars.  It is hands down one of my favorite books of the year.

In addition to the story, I am girl crushing Natalie (She was featured last week as my #WCW).  Oscar is delicious and amazing, but Natalie makes the story.  She is a fantastic heroine, smart, confident, and sexy.  Ahhh!  I can’t tell you all the ways that I love her!

I liked Nuts and love Cream of the Crop, so I will sit here and anxiously await the third book in the series.  Watching Clara tackle Archie’s hotel is going to be another hilarious addition to this series.

Synopsis:

Manhattan’s It Girl, Natalie Grayson, has it all: she’s a hot exec at a leading advertising firm, known industry-wide for her challenging and edgy campaigns. She’s got a large circle of friends, a family that loves her dearly, and her dance card is always full with handsome eligible bachelors. What else could a modern gal-about-town wish for? The answer, of course, is…cheese.

Natalie’s favorite part of each week is spending Saturday morning at the Union Square Farmer’s Market, where she indulges her love of all things triple cream. Her favorite booth also indulges her love of all things handsome. Oscar Mendoza, owner of the Bailey Falls Creamery and purveyor of the finest artisanal cheeses the Hudson Valley has to offer, is tall, dark, mysterious, and a bit oblivious. Or so she thinks. But that doesn’t stop Natalie from fantasizing about the size of his, ahem, milk can.

Romance is churning, passion is burning, and something incredible is rising to the top. Could it be…love?

steadfast My musings…

This is the one book that I have not read, but I am already planning to start reading it the minute it is released.  If that is Monday night at midnight so be it.  You may wonder why I would be crazy enough to do this.  Well, Sarina Bowen has never let me down! I love her stories, her characters, and her writing.  On top of loving her as an author, this book is one of redemption, and I love a good redemption story.  It takes a skilled author to take a character who has committed an unspeakable act or crime and redeem him in the eyes of the reader.  Now, Sarina Bowen started his tale in Bittersweet, which if you haven’t read, read it now, so the audience is already sympathetic to him, but I truly don’t think this would matter.  She would be able to pull it off without setting up his story in book one of the series.  Additionally, the reviews that are coming in are singing nothing but praises, so I cannot wait to get my hands on this book.

Synopsis:

She’s the only one who ever loved him—and the only one he can never have.

Jude lost everything one spring day when he crashed his car into an apple tree on the side of the road. A man is dead, and there’s no way he can ever right that wrong. He’d steer clear of Colebury, Vermont forever if he could. But an ex-con in recovery for his drug addiction can’t find a job just anywhere.

Sophie Haines is stunned by his reappearance. After a three year absence, the man who killed her brother and broke her heart is suddenly everywhere she turns. It’s hard not to stare at how much he’s changed. The bad boy who used to love her didn’t have big biceps and sun-kissed hair. And he’d never volunteer in the church kitchen.

No one wants to see Sophie and Jude back together, least of all Sophie’s police chief father. But it’s a small town. And forbidden love is a law unto itself.

4.5 Dirty Dax CROWNS

I love this story! Dax and Remi are great characters, and their story is full of angst, hot sex, and the sweetest words. My heart ached and melted for them the whole way through the book. The author has an incredible gift at making some sexy yet weaving vulnerability into the scene to make it about more than just getting off, in fact this book was feature yesterday as the #SexiestScene.  An additional aspect of the book that I love is the incorporation of Romeo and Juliet allusions.  Last names, places, parties, etc.  I love it all.  It appeals to my English heart.

This is another solid read from Ilsa Madden Mills, and I cannot wait to see what she does next with the series.  See, I’m already pretending that another book is coming.  I just don’t want to let them go yet!

Synopsis:

A smokin’ hot British player…
A jilted girl…
One night of mistaken identity…

Two weeks before her wedding, Remi Montague’s fiancé drops her faster than a drunken sorority girl in stilettos. Armed with her best friend and a bottle of tequila, she hops a plane to London to drown her sorrows before fall semester begins at Whitman University.

She didn’t plan on attending a masquerade party.

She sure didn’t plan on waking up next to the British bad boy who broke her heart three years ago—the devastatingly handsome and naked Dax Blay. Furthermore, she has no clue how they acquired matching tattoos.

Once back at Whitman together, they endeavor to pretend they never had their night of unbridled passion in London.

But that’s damn hard to do when you live in the same house…

One night. Two damaged hearts. The passion of a lifetime.

*A modern love story inspired by Romeo and Juliet*

5 Unbelievably Amazing CROWNS

I love this book. I love Ace. I love Dylan. There is literally nothing I dislike about this book, unless you count having to wait until August for the rest of their story. I know that seems crazy because logically it is only a couple of weeks, but emotionally I need the second book now!

I do not want to give anything else away, and I feel like anything I say will just ruin this book for you, so I will simply leave you with the end of my longer review:

Amazing. Epic. Fantastic. Outstanding.  So many words can be used to describe my love of this book, but you will just have to buy it and see for yourself.  You won’t regret it!

**This is a second book to this series with the same characters.

Synopsis:

What happens when these two worlds collide?

Ace Locke is Hollywood’s hottest action hero. Women across the globe fling their panties in his direction, but Ace isn’t interested in those—he’s more of a boxer briefs kind of guy. Specifically, those of the nearly naked male model on a billboard he drives past every day.

Though he recently made headlines for his public coming out, Ace is wary about pursuing a relationship, fearing what the court of public opinion will do to his career. But there’s something in the model’s expression that intrigues him and has him wondering what if?

Dylan Prescott just scored his biggest modeling campaign yet. One that has him plastered all over L.A. in not much more than what he was born with. And when he’s cast in Ace’s latest blockbuster, it puts him in close proximity to his ultimate fantasy.

Outwardly confident, Dylan has no problem with his sexuality or his pretty-boy looks, and uses both to his advantage to get what he wants. And what he wants is the impossible—Ace Locke.
