Checkmate: This is Love (Checkmate Duet Book 2) by [Fox, Kennedy] Releasing Monday, December 12, 2016

My musings…

Kennedy Fox completely knocked my socks off with the first book in this duet Checkmate: This is War. The sexual tension, the witty banter, the development of the characters, and the ending just blew me away.  They are one of my new favorite author duos who are new to the scene in 2016 (at least as co-authorship), and I cannot wait for what else they have in store for us!

Synopsis:

Viola Fisher is the epitome of perfection.
She despises my one-night stands and mocks my less-than-classy habits.
She’s smart, beautiful, and too good to be true.
And I want her.

If she were anyone else, I’d have made my move years ago, but considering she’s my best friend’s little sister, she’s always been off-limits. Not to mention how much she loathes my very existence.

Hating me is her religion, but needing her is mine. Her sexy curves and filthy smart mouth make me want her even more, and I’m more determined than ever to change her mind.

I’ll prove I’m done playing games.
But until then, we’ll continue to play by her rules.
Viola Fisher may have won the battle, but the war isn’t over yet.

Checkmate, princess.

*Recommend for ages 18+ due to sexual content and adult language.*
**This is Love is book in the Checkmate Duet. You must read This is War first.**

Max: A Cold Fury Hockey Novel (Carolina Cold Fury Hockey) by [Bennett, Sawyer] Releasing Tuesday, December 13, 2016

My musings…

I love Sawyer Bennett’s books.  She is one of those authors that is an automatic buy, meaning if she wrote, I’m reading it.  Her stories are always über sexy, often containing elements of suspense, and are just generally well-written.  Even though I love all of her books, the Cold Fury boys have a special place in my heart.  It is the first series I ever read by her, and they are responsible for my fangirling over all things Sawyer Bennett. As a result, I am extremely excited for Max!

Synopsis:

The ice is a cold mistress. As the league’s most eligible goalie, Max Fournier has access to his fair share of willing puck bunnies, but right now he’s more interested in bringing home another championship than a one-night stand. A romantic at heart, Max believes in love; he’s just not great at relationships. So when he finally meets a nice girl who’s not blinded by his celebrity, he’s feeling the heat—and the pressure to save her from herself.

Between working two jobs and raising her sister’s kids, Julianne Bradley doesn’t have time for sports—or men. All she knows about Max is that he’s the sexiest customer to ever grace her gas-station counter. And he sees past her tired eyes and makes Jules yearn for things she can’t have: a glamorous fling, a passionate lover, and the time to enjoy both. Max makes her feel like Cinderella, even though Jules has enough baggage to crush a glass slipper. Luckily, he’s no prince—only a fierce competitor determined to win her heart.

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000035_00027]

Releasing Tuesday, December 13, 2016

My musings…

I have read a couple books by Emma Hart, and they are also incredibly enjoyable.  With plenty of steam and romance, her books always provide me with an escape from the chaos of my world.  Being Brooke is a romantic comedy, so I am looking forward to the addition of humor to the mix.  If I know Emma Hart, it will be just as fantastic as her other books.  Plus, it is only 99¢ if you pre-order!  How can you resist?

Synopsis:

My name is Brooke Barker…

And I’m a freaking disaster.

No, seriously. I’m a college drop-out working a dead-end job, my best friend Carly’s dog gets more action than I do, and I have more bad dates in my diary than there are movie remakes.

Not to mention I’m completely and utterly in love with Cain Elliott.

The problem? He’s in a relationship. With a girl who’s so plastic she makes Barbie cry herself to sleep with jealousy.

The second problem? He’s my best friend.

My shut-up-and-put-harry-potter, yes-this-is-your-shirt, help-I-have-no-power, crap-I’m-out-of-tampon, kinda best friend.

And that’s all he can be, right?

Right.

Being Brooke is a standalone romantic comedy. Hilarious, super-sexy, and possibly highly inappropriate at times, this is the perfect feel-good read!

The Spire (The Walsh Series Book 6) by [Canterbary, Kate] Releasing Tuesday, December 13, 2016

My musings…

Kate Canterbary’s writing is just smart.  Her stories are complex and layered, and I don’t just enjoy her stories for the obvious romance reader reason, like swoon-worthy heroes and steamy and passionate interactions, but also for the quality of writing.  For this particular story, I am excited for the return of the Walsh sibling that has been absent as she has refused, until now, to return home. I just know her homecoming is going to be EPIC!
