My musings…

Lauren Blakely is one of my favorite romantic comedy writers, and this series in particular is one of my favorites.  The voice of her male narrators are awesome, and her heroines are often feisty and independent, which I love.  The Hot One in particular is one of my favorites from the series, bringing humor and heat to pages of your Kindle.  It is without a doubt a must read.

Full review to come on Monday.

At first glance, stripping naked at my ex-girlfriend’s place of work might not seem like the brightest way to win her back.

But trust me on this count – she always liked me best without any clothes on. And sometimes you’ve got to play to your strengths when you’re fighting an uphill battle. I’m prepared to fight for her…and to fight hard. I might have let her slip through my fingers the last time, but no way will that happen twice.

He’s the one who got away…

The nerve of Tyler Nichols to reappear like that, stripping at my job, showing off his rock hard body that drove me wild far too many nights. That man with his knowing grin and mischievous eyes is nothing but a cocky, arrogant jerk to saunter back into my life. Except, what if he’s not a jerk . . ? He’s the one I’ve tried like hell to forget but just can’t. Maybe I’m cursed to remember him. My money is on him being the same guy he always was, but what’s the harm in giving him a week to prove he’s a new man? I won’t fall for him again.

But how do you resist the hot one…

My musings…

Kennedy Fox was a new-to-me author in 2016, and they are now a one-click author for me in 2017.  Their books are steamy, entertaining, and engaging, and their characters are completely and totally lovable, well except for a certain female who shall not be named.  This is Reckless is another hit for the Checkmate series, and should definitely be a book you one click.

Full review to come on Tuesday.

Introducing book 1 in the new Checkmate Duet Series from a secret duo of bestselling authors! This friends to lovers romance will have you swooning and laughing from the first to the last page! Are you ready to play the game?

Drew Fisher is the type of guy every girl wants.

Noble police officer by day, charming prince by night.

He has no idea the effect he has on women, especially me—his little sister’s best friend.

I’m the blonde Southern belle who lives up to the cliché, except I have my own quirks. I’m smart as a whip, can change my own oil, and recite The Pledge of Allegiance backward, but he doesn’t see that girl.

It’d be easier to forget him if he wasn’t my roommate and if the first thing I saw in the morning wasn’t his shirtless body covered in tattoos. I’ve crushed on him since the day we met, but he’s made it perfectly clear where we stand. Just friends.

I know I need to move on and accept that his feelings will never be mutual, but every day he smiles at me, I’m left dreaming of what if.

He has girl issues, and I’ve got a crush I can’t deny.

We’re friends, but I want more.

One drunken hookup leaves us with much more than a platonic friendship. Pretending it never happened proves to be more difficult than anticipated.

A crazy ex-girlfriend, a dangerous war of stolen glances, and passionate kisses leads to the most reckless battle yet. I won’t be a pawn in his game, but I’ll play by his rules if it will show him I’m the one worth breaking them for.

Checkmate, Prince Charming.

*Recommend for ages 18+ due to sexual contentand adult language.*

**This is book 1 of 2 in the Checkmate Duet Series–a friends to lovers romance. Highly recommended to read the Checkmate Duet, This is War and This is Love first, but not necessary. This can read as a standalone duet.**

My musings…

Melanie Harlow is another one-click author for me. I own every book she has ever published, and I have read all but two.  I can honestly say that I have loved every single book she has written.  They are sexy, they are romantic, and they are well-written. I just know with every book she writes, I will be getting a moving romance that will entertain me from page one, and If You Were Mine will not be any different.

Full review to come on Friday.

Theo MacLeod wasn’t supposed to be the one.

Tall, dark and handsome suits me just fine, but the cocky grin, know-it-all attitude, and mammoth ego? No thanks. I only hired him so I wouldn’t have to sit at the singles table again. It was just pretend.

He wasn’t supposed to kiss me.

My heart wasn’t supposed to pound.

We weren’t supposed to spend the night together—the hottest night of my life.

One night turns into a snowed-in weekend away, and even the blizzard of the century can’t cool the fire between us. I can’t get enough—of his smile, of his body, of the way he makes me feel.

We’re nothing alike. He’s a daredevil, and I’m a nervous Nellie. He’s a drifter, and I want to put down roots. He’s an opportunist with a checkered past, and I’m a Girl Scout volunteer.

But none of it matters when I’m in his arms.

I know he’s made mistakes. I know his wounds are deep, and he doesn’t trust easily. I know he doesn’t believe he could ever be enough to make me happy, but he could.

All he has to do is stay.

My musings…

I’m a sucker for a damaged hero, and Scarlett Cole’s Preload series guarantees to bring use a whole group of them.  Jordan Reclaimed, though is kicking off the spin-off series, and I am so excited.  He seems so tortured, so damaged that I cannot wait to see the journey Ms. Cole takes him on in order to have him heal and find love.  I know it will be one epic ride.

Full review to come Sunday, March 5.

Jordan Steele’s life began when he was ten. When he was taken from his parents and a house that was never a home. When he met his brothers, the other lost and abandoned boys in his group home. When he learned what friendship and family and love looked like.

Now he’s made good, touring the world with the band he and his brothers formed in that crowded group home. No one but his found family really knows the man under the fame and fortune, the scars he hides behind the rockstar lifestyle. Until he sees her through the windows of the National Ballet, dancing, and suddenly the world doesn’t seem so dark.

Aleksandra Artemov ticks all the ballet boxes. Father a legendary Kirov dancer. Check. Prepping since birth for classical ballet. Check. Compulsive control over the food she eats. Check. Principal dancer at The National Ballet of Canada. Check. But what she craves is freedom.

She craves Jordan.

Everything about him should terrify her. His size, his tattoos, his edge. But he doesn’t. He stirs her very soul. Jordan has nothing but himself to offer her, and he’s never been good enough for anyone. Can he figure out how to face his own demons before he loses his light for good?

My musings…

This is my first book by Kennedy Ryan, well I actually read the prequel Flow yesterday, which is FREE and you MUST read it, and I am a huge fan.  Her writing is poetic, beautiful, and the second chance romance she has woven together is bound to break my heart. I just know that Grip is going to heal it back up, though. I cannot wait to dive back into the conclusion of this stunning book and see Grip and Bristol’s HEA.  It is honestly killing me to have to wait to read it!

Full review to come on Thursday.

Resisting an irresistible force wears you down and turns you out.
I know.
I’ve been doing it for years.
I may not have a musical gift of my own, but I’ve got a nose for talent and an eye for the extraordinary.
And Marlon James – Grip to his fans – is nothing short of extraordinary.
Years ago, we strung together a few magical nights, but I keep those memories in a locked drawer and I’ve thrown away the key.
All that’s left is friendship and work.
He’s on the verge of unimaginable fame, all his dreams poised to come true.
I manage his career, but I can’t seem to manage my heart.
It’s wild, reckless, disobedient.
And it remembers all the things I want to forget.
