Years have passed, but my feelings are the same, and this time I refuse to let her go. They say you can’t bury the past, and they’re right. Because when long-ago secrets are exposed, rocking us both to the core, I have no choice but to watch her walk away again . . .

#NewRelease “Between Now and Always” by Dylan Allen

“The conclusion in the Forever Trilogy did not disappoint! Allen delivers the third book in this heart-stopping series with talent and poetry-esq writing. Five stars!”–Jenika Snow, USA Today bestselling author

BNAA - RB banner-2

Between Now and Always, the highly anticipated conclusion to the powerful and epic Forever Trilogy from Dylan Allen, is available now!

Aundi’s Musings…

5 Forever Crowns

This is the final book in the Forever Trilogy by Dylan Allen and I have to say that this is an excellent culmination to Beth and Carter’s story. Dylan’s words take a piece of your heart you won’t ever get it back. This story was empowering and uplifting as well as suspenseful while wrapped in the beautiful love that is this couple. Dylan slayed this trilogy, pulling no punches and leaving it all out there, and I loved every single second of their heartbreaking journey and I am devastated to see this come to an end.

“The devil has made hell feel like home. But, it’s not. This is not home. Not for either of us.”

I absolutely loved watching as Beth came into her own. She took her life in her hands and spread her wings to become this awe inspiring woman. I don’t want to say too much as this is a trilogy and needs to be read in order. But what she has had to endure through this journey was so heartbreaking. This beautiful woman went through things that would break anyone else. What she experienced will make you so angry and frustrated that you will want to throw your Kindle across the room. But, as the story progresses and you feel and see her strength shine through you admire her even more. She is strength personified and she never loses who she is on the inside. Beth is one of my all-time favorite heroines.

Our tongues are beasts that have been prowling, stalking, in impatient silence, that have finally captured their prey.

I love Carter, he will always hold a special place in my heart. This man is swoony deliciousness that you just can’t get enough of. He wears his heart on his sleeve and doesn’t care who knows or sees it. His journey was not an easy one either but for completely different reasons. I loved watching him grow and become who he always had the capability to be, he just needed someone to show him. He matures so much as this trilogy went on and I loved his growth and where he ended up as a character. This man owns me heart and soul.

“It was like seeing the sun rise for the first time, Beth. And I knew I wanted those eyes to be my view forever.”

This story and these characters will live with you long after you’re done! Dylan has woven a beautifully written tale of the ultimate power of love and what it can do. She has the ability to pull you in from the first page and leave you completely entranced until the final word. I couldn’t imagine this journey any other way and I am so glad to have gone on it with these characters. Dylan brazenly takes you on a roller coaster of emotions throughout leaving you completely spent but oh so happy with the conclusion!!!

#Review “Random Acts of New Year” by Julia Kent

RANDOM ACTS OF NEW YEAR, Book 10 in Julia Kent’s bestselling romantic comedy series, Random Acts

Tricia’s Musings…

5 Don’t count your chickens before they’ve hatched CROWNS

Oh how I’ve missed this group of guys and their girls. Random Acts of Crazy are growing up, but ultimately are still living up to their name with their own brand of outrageous behaviour and risky shenanigans. Your secrets are most definitely not safe with this gang, and they seem to live by the adage that anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. Bearing that in mind, I was interested to see just how Liam would pull off his surprise proposal without some major catastrophe occurring, someone literally putting their foot in it, or at least having to make a trip to the hospital before he got the chance to pop the question. Let’s face it, it wouldn’t be a Random story without a few curve balls and crazy obstacles in the way of true love.

Funny, sexy and often irreverent, with a few poignant moments too, this book had me both laughing out loud and rolling my eyes. I loved Liam and Charlotte together. Although their journey has been a bumpy one, nevertheless they are made for each other. I would say out of all the couples in this series, they have  had the most serious issues to deal with and have given us the most sobering moments in amongst all the laughs.

Of course Darla almost steals the show as usual and the problems she’s having with her men could really only happen to her. Outspoken, crude and straight to the point, there’s definitely never a dull moment where she’s concerned.

I’ve really enjoyed this whole series of books. They’re definitely one of a kind; hilarious and silly and erotic, and not for the easily offended! Whilst you don’t need to start from the very beginning to enjoy this book, if you’re new to the series, I would recommend that you do read Liam and Charlotte’s story in Random Acts of Hope in order to fully engage (no pun intended!) with this one. Oh, and *spoiler* although it was touch and go at one point, I’m pleased to report that Mavis survived to live another day!

#Review “Devious Lies” by Parker S. Huntington

“Crackaliciously addictive. One of my favorite books of the year.”

—L.J. Shen, USA Today bestselling author

Image result for devious lies parker s huntington

Devious Lies, an all-new sizzling hot enemies-to-lovers stand-alone romance from USA Today bestselling author Parker S. Huntington, is available now!

Aundi’s Musings…

5 Devious Crowns

Parker has created a thoroughly addicting Enemies to Lovers romance that will stay with you long after you’ve finished. This story was completely Unputdownable, I was enraptured from the prologue until the very last word. I seriously got nothing accomplished while reading this, I Could. Not. Put. It. Down!!! These characters, this story, will consume you until you have finished and leave an indelible mark on your heart.

It takes strength to want something and deny yourself the craving. And Emery Winthrop possessed a strength so great it broke her and pieced her together.

I read the Spring Fling Anthology so I had some vague idea of where this was going. I knew the characters and the gist of the backstory. But I was not prepared for where Parker took these two characters, which I had already fallen in love with.

Fate whispers to the warrior, “You cannot withstand the storm,” and the warrior whispers back, “I am the storm.” –Unknown

Emery is freaking amazing, the strength of heart and character that she possesses is unlike anything I’ve seen. She is completely selfless to the point of detriment to her. But you understand why she does it. Parker has created her in such a way that you want to stand beside her, hurt when she hurts and help where you can. She is so completely quirky and stubborn you cannot help but fall in love with her. And the banter between her and Nash was pure freaking fire, you could feel the tension between them burn from the pages. Every time they are in a room together you could feel it as if it’s this tangible energy that can’t be denied.

I wanted to inhale his smoke, coat my tongue with his ashes, and bury myself in his lies.

Nash is EVERYTHING. This man and his Alpha dominance is enough to make a nun blush. He acts like the villain with his words but proves otherwise with his actions. He is a complete contradiction, one that you want so badly to figure out. And let me tell you the things that come out of this man’s mouth will get you wound up… I could not get enough of him. I thought I loved him in Spring Fling but I was so very wrong, because I am obsessed with him after having read this.

No matter how many times I kiss her, claim her, mark her as mine, it will never be enough. The way I crave her is insatiable. It’s proof of immortality.

Enemies to Lovers is one of my all-time favorite tropes, I love the feelings it conjures and the progression the characters take to whatever their end is. And Parker has shown me once again why this is my favorite. I cannot stress how much I loved this story and these characters. Parker has created a world that I want so badly to live in. This book will take a piece of you with it when you’re done and you won’t want it back.

#Review “Kill Switch” by Penelope Douglas

Image result for kill switch penelope douglas

Kill Switch, an all-new standalone dark romantic suspense by Penelope Douglas is live!

Aundi’s Musings…

5 CROWNS

This is the story that you’ve been waiting for. Damon and Winter will leave you gasping and wanting for more! Their story is full of all the twist and turns that we’ve come to love and expect from Penelope delivered in a tension filled package of pure angst. This is one story that you cannot prepare for, so just sit back and enjoy the ride!

“Now…” my sister’s new husband whispered in my ear. “Now, you belong to me.”

I should never have doubted that Penelope would get me to love a character, because here I am, after Kill Switch, in love with Damon! Whom by the way I completely despised throughout the other stories. You get to really see him for the first time, and learn everything that he has had to endure throughout his life. It makes who is more understandable. It definitely does not negate what he’s done but it casts it in a whole new light.

This man has been through something that many will never have to. And he’s figured out a way to compartmentalize that, is it the healthiest of ways absolutely not. But if you’ve never been in the same situation who are you to judge how someone handles their triggers. He endured years of abuse that has cause him some serious PTSD. And unbeknownst to Winter she’s the one that gave him his outlet to come back down from the brink. This bonds them down to his marrow. She’s helped him whether she knows it or not, she saved a piece of his soul that day.

I love Winters character she is strong, stronger than what other’s give her credit for. And I absolutely adore that Damon fosters this strength. He never makes her feel like she can’t do something. Because to him she is capable of all things. This just melted my heart more for him. He builds her up but at the same time protects her against all else.

You won’t make me dirty. There is no you. There is no me. This is us. Us.

Winter and Damon’s relationship is a series of miscommunication’s and accident’s that were taken out of context. When Damon loves he loves hard and he fell in love with Winter. But because of the circumstances regarding how she ended up blind he could not reveal himself to her. Which in turn caused so many more issues. At first I was so mad at Winter for what she did, but as the story progressed I understood it to an extent. She felt betrayed and lied to and so I get it. But she broke one of the remaining good pieces in him. Their love story was truly a hard fought love. They had to overcome so many obstacles to be together and to ultimately forgive each other for prior transgressions and just be together. I think this is why they are one of my favorites. They had to fight and claw their way to each other. And Damon never gave up!

“Having Damon around was the only time I ever felt solid in my life,” he told me. “He’s powerful. But painful.”

I love everything about this story. Each one gets better and better. This world that Penelope has created is all consuming and completely addictive. These characters and this story line are LIFE! Penelope’s words seep into your blood and become part of your marrow, you slowly become the story. You are feeling what they are feeling, every emotion, every tension, every sense of danger rips through you as if your there. You Need. This. In. Your. Life!!!!

#Review “Hideaway” by Penelope Douglas

Title: Hideaway

Genre: Romantic Suspense

Author: Penelope Douglas

Release Date: October 2nd, 2017

Aundi’s musings…

5 CROWNS

Penelope has created an intensely dark and delicious world that will enrapture you from the first page until the very last moment. This series is a delightful blend of scary, twisted and decadent to the angstiest degree. This is book 2 in the series and should be read in order. It’s not completely necessary as they are written as standalones but they definitely have interconnecting story-lines. This story follows Kai and Banks.

A man cannot destroy the savage in him by denying its impulses. The only way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it. –Robert Louis Stevenson

I loved Banks, her character is so multi-layered and fascinating. How this girl had to grow up and still be who she is just floors me. She is strength personified and does everything she can to just be seen by her father. She spent her whole life living under the radar and not being noticed in her house because she is female. And according to her father females are essentially worthless other than bearing sons. She has struggled and clawed her way to being more than what he has deemed her as, and it’s empowering to see.

“You are one of my secrets,” she shot back. “I’m trying to steal you, but I wish I didn’t want to.”

The relationship that she builds with Kai made perfect sense. There was so much push and pull between them for obvious reasons. And she was very much Hot and Cold through most of the book. Which again makes sense as to how she grew up and what her ultimate goal was. But the slow burn intensity between them was sizzling. Kai was drawn to her from the moment he met her. And you can feel that attraction jump off the pages. Every time they are in a room together it’s like you can feel the heat pouring from the pages. (The closet scene enough said).

I love Kai’s character he’s actually a really good guy with a slightly skewed moral compass. He was raised to never disappoint and to do the right thing. And since his arrest has felt that his parents are perpetually disappointed in him. I love the glimpses into his culture and you can really see that he never wanted to bring shame on his family but knows that he has and is fighting with that. He’s Alpha protective and has a seductively dirty mouth, he is; All. The. Things!

Around you, I get hungry. Like I’m starving.

What I loved most about this story was the intensity throughout and the perpetual state of unease due to not knowing where Damon was. It set the book on a whole new level of angst. Will he or won’t he type of thing? And you can feel that from everyone in the story. You could tell that each character was tense and it showed. This series is completely addicting, what Penelope has created will take you on an intense journey that you won’t want to leave. She has roller coaster level twists and turns that leave you gasping for breath but screaming for more. Trust me you want to read this series, you will not be disappointed.

#NewRelease “Lust. Hate. Love.” by Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine

Title: Lust. Hate. Love.
Series: Fallen Angel #4
Genre: Rocker M/M Romance

Sarah’s Musings…

4 Real Love CROWNS

This one was a bit unexpected for me based on the title. It was heartfelt, completely swoon worthy and romantic. I found myself awwwwing, several times throughout the book at the sentiment that Levi and Killian shared with each other. There is lust and plenty of steam but it took a back seat to the romance of it all.

Killian and Levi are some good together but I truly fell for Killian. Gah! From his level headed nature to the sweet gestures and the way he treats Levi. Put a fork in me, I’m done. I love him, and so for him to get his HEA at the end. I was overjoyed to see him so complete and happy. Levi is a great character, too, but I did feel a bit more attached to Kill since he has been around forever with the Viper and Angel’s story.

The plot is really low angst, and the conflict is pretty clear with a realistic and grown up conclusion. I did enjoy watching the courtship of the two and the time together. I do wish I would have seen more of them together outside of the bedroom and the band duties that they have. I think that is why I love the epilogue so much. We are able to get a glimpse of them as a couple.

While this hasn’t been my favorite series from this duo, it is well written, and they have created such a loving family with these characters that they do feel a bit like home. I’ll miss seeing them on the pages.

JUST ONE YEAR by Penelope Ward

Release date: 2/24/2020

A Contemporary Romance Novel

Model: Chase Mattson ♦ Photographer: Derick Smith ♦ Cover designer: Letitia Hasser, RBA Designs

the day he came backSYNOPSIS

The beginning of my sophomore year in college was off to a rough start.

On the first day of orientation, I had an altercation with an infuriating British dude.

(In the men’s room. Don’t ask.)

I got home later that night and realized that the foreign student we were expecting

to rent a room in my parents’ house was allergic to our cat.

So, the spare room went to someone else: Caleb—the British guy from the men’s

room.

And so it began…my love-hate story with Caleb Yates. Or was it hate-love in that

order?

The guy knew how to push every one of my buttons.

Sometimes I’d email him to express my aggravation and disdain.

He’d actually rewrite my own words and send them back to me.

That was the type of infuriating person Caleb was.

So frustrating.

And…

Sometimes incredibly funny and endearingly sweet.

And hot.

He eventually grew on me, and Caleb soon became one of my best friends that year.

Too bad he was headed back to England soon, so nothing could happen between us—for so many reasons.

I definitely couldn’t fall in love with him, especially since all we had was just one year.

#NewRelease “Manhattan” by Kandi Steiner

Image may contain: 4 people, text

Manhattan, a standalone in the Becker Brothers series, a small town, country,

friends-to-lovers romance, is LIVE!

Aundi’s Musings…

5 What’s Right In Front Of You CROWNS

I am so in love with this family that Kandi has created, the Becker boys own my heart and soul and Mickey just took the lead. She has brought to life a beautifully written friends to lover’s romance that will tug at your heartstrings and bring unbinding tears to your eyes. Mickey and Kylie will take a piece of you with them that you won’t want back.

When she left, I realized that she didn’t just take part of me with her – she took all of me.

Michael Becker took hold of my heart from the beginning and I never really got it back. You can’t help but fall in love with this boy who’s been broken and is just going through the motions. He wears his heart on his sleeve and you can’t help your own heart from physically aching when his get’s shattered. But, seeing him slowly come back to life once Kylie steps in makes you so unbelievably happy. You can feel their connection through the pages. And it warms you knowing that he has someone like her in his life.

But he does have his stupid streak and makes some poor decisions that make you want to punch him. Then in the next token he does the most remarkable things that have you swooning all over the place. I tell you with the way he apologizes it would be hard to stay mad at him.

He hadn’t even talked to her and a wave of possession had swept in on me like a surprise summer storm.

Kylie is the girl next door. She’s sweet and caring always looking out for those around her. She is unflappably loyal even when it isn’t deserved, she’s the whole package. This girl is goodness wrapped in rainbows, but she doesn’t take anyone’s crap either. She knows when she must make a stand and she doesn’t waver in her decisions. I love this girl’s tenacity and spark of life that she brings to the world. And watching the way she is with Mickey bringing him slowly but surely back to life is exhilarating to see unfold.

He kissed me like a punishment, and I took it like a sadist

Kandi has woven a truly heartfelt tale of first loves lost, and unrequited loves found. Watching Mickey and Kylie grow in their relationship and heal from their shared tragedies makes your heartbeat a little faster and the tears flow quiet but steady. These two are connected on a level that not many are or ever will be. Mickey and Kylie are the epitome of friends to lovers that you can’t get enough of. I loved everything about this story and this family will continue to own a part of me. I can’t wait to see where she takes us with Logan’s story.

A Secret for a Secret, an all-new forbidden standalone hockey romance from New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting is coming May 12th, and we have the sexy new cover!

From New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting comes a new romance about trading secrets, breaking the rules, and playing for keeps.

Hunting-A Secret for a Secret-28672-PB-FT

My name is Ryan Kingston, and I’m a rule follower. I’ve never been in a fistfight. I always obey the speed limit. I don’t get drunk, and I definitely don’t pick up random women at bars.

Except the night I found out that my whole existence has been a lie.

I got drunk. And picked up a stranger.

Her name was Queenie, and she was everything I’m not: reckless, impulsive, and chaotic. We did shots and traded secrets. And ended up naked at my place.

She left me a thank-you note in the morning and her panties as a parting gift. But no way to contact her.

Six weeks later I’m sitting in the first official team meeting of the season, and there she is. I neglected to mention that I’m the goalie for Seattle’s NHL team.

And Queenie? Turns out she’s the general manager’s daughter.

5 Soul Healing CROWNS

This is the ultimate story of love lost, love found and the power of forgiveness. This story will gut punch you in the feels and leave you gasping for breath. Siobhan has done it again, this book is completely unputdownable. She draws you in from the start and keeps you guessing throughout.
Kalvin was always my second favorite to Kyler because that boy is all the things, but Kalvin certainly gave him a run for his money. Kalvin outwardly is nonchalant he was just going about his life doing his thing breaking hearts. Whoring around and having fun. But unfortunately he broke the wrong heart with Lana. I don’t think he really meant too, he was just young and dumb and made some serious mistakes. I think to him Lana was forever and he just wasn’t ready for that.

Well if you’ve read through Kyler’s trilogy you already know what happens with them so I won’t go into detail but I’ll sum it up by saying she falsely accused him of rape. This made me so mad at Lana seriously furious with her. I liked her up until that. She was a lonely girl living in the servant’s quarters pretty much and loving a boy just out of her reach. Not to mention she was manipulated by Kyler’s ex psycho Addison into doing in the first place. But that doesn’t excuse what she did. She does retract her story and then she disappears from everyone, not answering phone calls anymore and no one knows where she is.

Kalvin follows her to the school that the both dreamed about when they were young and spoke of the future together, just hoping that she still decided to go there. And of course she did because this was a piece of both of them, a part of their story that wasn’t tainted by the accusations. Kalvin starts trying to get to know Lana again, he’s trying to build stability within each other, because yes they made mistakes but he forgives her and wants to be with her.

Lana then drops another bomb on him one that should be unforgivable. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone so I won’t state what it is but it’s huge. And you can’t feel his whole world shatter around him. The layers of sadness are almost too much to bear. But I think this is exactly what needed to happen for both of them to truly move forward together. They needed to hit the absolute rock bottom to know that, yes, this is the person I want to be with no matter what.

This story pulls every emotion out of you until you’re rung dry. It’s a literal emotional wringer. But oh so worth it in the end. You watch these two completely flawed characters break and bend and mold into these people that they should have always been. You get to watch as their childhood love grows into something so much more. You know without a doubt that these two can get through anything. This is truly a beautiful story of acceptance of the person you love and the simple act of forgiveness. Continue Reading

Heartland by Sarina Bowen

Book #7 in the True North Series

January 28, 2019

Synopsis:

Dylan is my best friend, and the only person in my life who understands me. He doesn’t mind my social awkwardness or my weird history. The only glitch? He doesn’t know that I’ve been hopelessly, desperately in love with him since the first day we picked apples together in his family’s orchard.

But I know better than to confess.

Now that we’re both in college together, I’m seeing a new side of him. College Dylan drinks and has a lot of sex. None of it with me. Until the night I foolishly ask him to tutor me in more than algebra…and he actually says yes.

But the cool morning light shows me how badly I’ve endangered our friendship. And I don’t know if anything will be the same again.

Shipped off to boarding schools from an early age, it was still impossible to escape the loneliness and carve out a life of her own. The shadow of her parents’ fame followed her everywhere.

And when they suddenly pass away, she knows she should be devastated. But has anything really changed? She’s always been alone, hasn’t she?

Jake Van der Berg, her father’s stepbrother and her only living relative, assumes guardianship of Tiernan who is still two months shy of eighteen. Sent to live with him and his two sons, Noah and Kaleb, in the mountains of Colorado, Tiernan soon learns that these men now have a say in what she chooses to care and not care about anymore. As the three of them take her under their wing, teach her to work and survive in the remote woods far away from the rest of the world, she slowly finds her place among them.

And as a part of them.

And she also realizes that lines blur and rules become easy to break when no one else is watching.

One of them has her.

The other one wants her.
