#Review “Coming Up Roses” by Staci Hart

Prepare yourself for rom-com gold with the perfect dose of heartfelt longing and emotion! Don’t miss out on this new release!

Aundi’s Musings…

4 Darlin’ Crowns

This was a beautifully written and insanely saccharine Southern Romance, chock full of instant attraction and that good ol’ Southern hospitality. I love LK’s books they are perfectly balanced with the right amount of sweet and saucy and the kind of insta-love that you can’t help but smile at.

Myla Rose has been dealt some terrible hands in life but her grandma helps to raise her into a strong independent woman. But even strong independent woman make mistakes and hers is by the name of Taylor. Who turns out not to be anything like she’d hoped leaving her pregnant and alone. She’s decided to raise her baby on her own and she has no problems doing just that, until she meets the delicious Cash Carson and everything changes.

Cash went through a terrible break-up and thus has put walls around his heart so he won’t get hurt again. But something about Myla has him all tied up in knots. I loved the way he talked to her and always the gentlemen opening her door and taking her out, making sure she was eating. Basically causing me to swoon all over the place!!

If you are in the mood for a light read that will have your teeth aching with the amount of sugar and your heart tighten with the way Cash cares for Myla than this story is for you.

#NewRelease “Drive Me Wild” by Melanie Harlow

“This book is everything—heart, humor, and just the right amount of heat. A perfect distraction!” – Adriana Locke, USA Today Bestselling Author

DMW - RB banner.jpg

Drive Me Wild, an all-new sexy, opposites-attract romance with all the feels by USA Today bestselling author Melanie Harlow is available now!

DriveMeWild AMAZON (1)

When Blair Beaufort literally crashes into Bellamy Creek wearing a ball gown and a tiara, I should have towed her car, said goodnight, and sent her packing.

I’m a mechanic, not a hotel manager. I’ve got enough on my plate trying to keep my shop from going under, my overbearing mother off my back, and my baseball team in contention for the league championship. I don’t have time for a former debutante with zero street smarts and a cash flow problem, even if she is crazy beautiful.

Problem is, she’s stranded in my small town, and I’m hiding a protective streak underneath my grumpy exterior that runs deep. So I offer her a place to stay and keep my hands to myself.

For exactly one night.

If only she weren’t so gorgeous. So funny. So eager to please. She’s a disaster behind the wheel, but she drives me wild without even trying–at work, at home, in the back of my truck . . . I can’t get enough of the way she makes me feel.

But I know better than to think it can last. She wants a fairy tale, and I’m no prince.

So when it comes time for her to leave, there’s nothing I can do but let her go.

No matter how much it hurts to say goodbye.

#Review “Ruthless Empire” by Rina Kent

Ruthless Empire by Rina Kent is LIVE! Are you ready for Cole Nash and his damnation? #One-click today!

Aundi’s Musings…

5 Babydoll Crowns

Rina has completely and utterly blown my mind with this book. This is the final book in this series, and I am so sad to see them go, but I legit died for this story. I could not put this down, I blew through it in one sitting, burning through page after page on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was going to happen next. I could not have prepared myself for the ride that is Ruthless Empire.

I don’t want to give anything away because this book needs to be gone into blind, it just does. Otherwise you’ll miss out on all the surprises that Rina has crafted making this book incredibly intense and precariously depraved. But I will say this Cole and Silver are addictively dangerous and absolute perfection.

Silver is so much more than I thought she would be. In all the books prior all you get to see is the façade that she puts on, so it was refreshing to see the girl behind the mask. I felt for her and everything that she has gone through. There’s a lot of pressure put on her and it has to be exhausting being perfect all the time.

Cole is dark and depraved and I loved every second of his immoral behavior. I knew that he was intense, but I had no idea just how intense he actually is. But considering the circumstances of his childhood I’m not really all that surprised. I loved the conflicting layers of this man and how he tries to balance them, while also keeping his own mask in place so that others can’t read him.

I cannot sing the praises of this book enough. The twists and turns are enough to keep you guessing until the very last moment. And what a freaking ending I did not see it coming at all, it was a flawless end to an incredible series. Rina has without a doubt created magic with this series, if you like your books intensely corrupt with characters that have an iffy moral compass than this book is for you.

#Review “Wicked Princess” by A. Jade

WICKED PRINCESS (Royal Hearts Academy #3) by Ashley Jade
Release Date: August 18th

Aundi’s Musings…

4 Baby Covington Crowns

This series just continues to tear my heart to shreds every single time I read one of these stories. I’ve been dying for Bianca’s book from the beginning, anxiously waiting to see how Ashley was going to present her, because let’s face it she is not a nice character. And after having read this I can safely say my mind is blown and I’m a little taken aback and honestly still trying to process all the feelings this book elicited.

I’m going to keep this review to the basics because of all the hard work Ashley put in to keeping this book under wraps. And after having finished it I can whole heartedly agree that you need to go into this completely blind. You won’t be able to grasp the relevance of what’s happened and what’s happening if you get spoilers beforehand. This is one of those stories that leaves you reeling with so many thoughts and questions. That if you know what’s happening before you start those feelings are corrupted and they aren’t natural to the process of discovering what’s going on.

Bianca always fascinated me on a visceral level. I just needed to know what’s actually going through her mind when she would do the things that she did. I never once questioned her unfailing loyalty or love for her family. I knew that deep down some of what she did was due to that. But it wasn’t enough I needed to know more. And even after reading this honestly, I still do. I’m still left with so many unanswered questions regarding her, her family, what happened that night and what has happened to her throughout her life to this point.

Despite being left with many unanswered questions, I really enjoyed this story. I fell easily into this world from the moment I opened the book. Ashley has this magnetic way with words that literally draws you in and holds you captive. I devoured this cover to cover in one sitting. The layers and nuances throughout keep you riveted, and the angst is next level, my heart physically ached while reading this bringing tears to my eyes. I love this world and these characters that Ashley has so meticulously created, I’m not ready for it to end but alas all things must.

#Review “Crew Princess” by Tijan

Image result for crew princess tijan

Title: Crew Princess
Author: Tijan
Genre: Teen & Young Adult Romance
Release Date:
 August 19, 2019

Aundi’s Musings…

5 We Were Feared. We Were Loved. We Were Respected Crowns

Tijan effortlessly wrenches you into this story from the prologue and doesn’t let you go until the very last word. Tearing through every one of your emotions, while simultaneously transitioning from one confrontation to the next, in this angsty but satisfying read. You will not want to put this book down once you start. These characters and this story will have you utterly enraptured; food what’s that, sleep who needs it!! Welcome back to Roussou you’re in for a ride.

We already knew that Bren is this badass chick who is beyond loyal and fierce, striking fear into those around her with just a look. But throughout all the drama of the story and every situation her Crew is in, you get to see Bren growing and maturing. You have first hands accounts of how she’s trying to become a better more solid person. It’s not a secret she has a lot of baggage that she’s holding onto. And watching as she slowly drops some of it off a little a time was so gratifying to watch. The growth that she exhibits it not easy for her, but she knows where she needs to expand and explore and she does. Becoming something so much more than what she was. She’s still the same badass who loves fiercely with unending loyalty but she’s also more.

I said this in my last review for Crew but I desperately wanted a dual POV situation so I could see into Cross’s head. Welp I got my wish. In this book there is one Chapter that is all Cross and let me tell you, I loved Every. Single. Second of it! This man is beyond all my expectations. His love and possessive need to take care of Bren and love her the way she deserves is the hottest thing I’ve seen. He’s protective of her to a fault and watching as he comes undone for her was Pure. Kindle. Crack. This man is a freaking animal in the best way and I died for that chapter. I wish there was so much more, because being in his head was a treat and definitely upped the hotness level of him.

This book shows the importance of The Crew system and all the good it does. It’s not all bad just as people aren’t all bad there’s good in them and bad in them. It’s how you balance that dichotomy inside you that determines the person you are. The Crew system has a purpose will everyone understand it? No. Are they at times violent? Yes. Are they violent for no reason? No. It’s these types of questions that Tijan brought to the surface. While reading this she’ll have you thinking if this existed when you were in school how different would your experience have been. The Crew is not a gang they are the antithesis of that. They are better than that. I am obsessed with this world just like I am with all things Tijan. This series is so much more than I could have hoped for and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

#NewRelease “Not My Romeo” by Ilsa Madden-Mills

NMR - RB banner.jpg

“Rife with uproarious moments and banter that sings, this scorching contemporary will captivate Madden-Mills’s fans.” —Publishers Weekly

Aundi’s Musings…

5 Romeo Crowns

Ilsa Madden-Mills has without a doubt slayed this superbly written and utterly captivating Rom-Com. Jack and Elena are the epitome of opposites attract with unyielding chemistry and a connection that can’t be broken. I loved everything about this story from the moment I opened the pages until the very last sentence in this story.

Jack is low-key this sexy Alpha football star with a wall around his heart the size of a football field and rightly so. He’s been burned before not just by prior relationships but also with all the negative media attention he’s been receiving. So, when he first meets Elena he’s suspicious of her and what she really wants with him. I felt so much for Jack, it’s got to be so hard to not really trust anyone because you’re not entirely sure of their intentions with you. It has to be a truly lonely place to live and can make you very bitter and wary, which Jack is both. But being with Elena has slowly opened him up and the connection they share, he wants to be able to trust her and that in itself is a huge thing.

Elena is a beautifully pure soul. She is open and friendly with a huge heart. She has just been severely burned by her ex and is just recently getting back into the dating game when she comes across Jack. With him she feels more herself than she ever has with anyone else. She hides parts of herself from her family for fear of embarrassing them. They live in a small town that thrives on gossip and she doesn’t want to expose her family to that. I loved Elena her personality and desire to do what she’s passionate about even if she has to keep it a secret.

This book is completely Unputdownable, I devoured it cover to cover in one sitting. Ilsa has crafted a fervent and enthralling read that is sure to leave you with a smile on your face. The desire and connection between Elena and Jack were pure fire, consuming each page and every moment they are together. Ilsa has created another MUST READ for me. And I can already tell that this will be on my reread list for years to come. If you are looking for a smart, funny romance that will leave your heart and soul happy than this is for you.

#Review “Crew” by Tijan

TITLE: Crew

SERIES: Crew #1

AUTHOR: Tijan

Aundi’s Musings…

4 You Go After One You Go After All Crowns

I absolutely loved the Fallen Crest Series; Mason is still one of my all-time favorite book boyfriends ever. So of course, I was so excited to read Crew and fall back into the world I loved. This is different than FCH its Roussou so you could definitely feel the contrast between the schools. Roussou had crews and Fallen had Mason and Logan. I liked that Tijan had that separation between the two, so it didn’t at all feel like you were reliving FCH but with different characters it’s a whole new world just one that rubs against the Fallen border.

Bren is a dark character she has a lot of demons she lives with daily and she has this darkness that pulls at her from time to time, trying to drag her beneath its surface. It follows her everywhere she goes and when she’s having too many emotions it comes out acting as a shield against those feelings. She’s closed off and has these walls that no one can penetrate except Cross her best friend and Crew member.

I loved the dynamic between them you could tell that they’ve been friends for forever, they always just knew what the other needed. And they provided a never-ending comfort and safety that both of them so desperately desired. The connection between them is strong and unyielding, they are their own unit. Bren needed this she needed him and I’m so glad that she had this steady strength within Cross to rely on and help her even when she didn’t want to admit to needing help.

You don’t really get to know all the much about Cross. You know he’s a shelter for Bren and that they are connected on a visceral level. You know that he’s strong, people are afraid of him and his quiet ferocity. But otherwise you don’t get to know him as a person, what makes him tick what he’s feeling. Because of this I wish that Tijan had made this a dual POV. It would have been nice to know his feelings regarding everything that was going on not just with Bren but with the Crew.

Tijan has crafted an angsty YA novel that will bring out so many differing emotions. The darkness that follows Bren is one that you can connect to on a personal level. The need for family and love that is prevalent throughout with not only Bren but Cross will tug at your heartstrings, leaving you wrung dry by the time your done. These characters and their struggles are heartbreaking. I’m glad to be back in this world again, missing Tijan’s unique writing style and her innate ability to draw you completely into any story and getting you utterly lost to her words.

#NewRelease “Kiss My Cupcake” by Helena Hunting

“A laugh-out-loud romance full of charm, wit and magic. A thoroughly delicious read.” –LJ Shen, USA Today bestselling author

KMC - RB banner

Kiss My Cupcake, an all-new witty, opposites-attract standalone romance from New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting is available now!

Sarah’s Musings…

4 CUPCAKE CROWNS

Super cute. Low angst, almost minimal conflict. Gives you all the happy feelings.

Kiss My Cupcake is filled with lovable characters, fun small shop shenanigans, and a romance that is completely sweet and a bit steamy. I really enjoyed these two as people and a couple, although Ronan stole the show for me.

The plot is very low angst, and the conflict while there comes late in the plot and is resolved very quickly. My preference is for a bit more angst and substantial conflict, but it is a light and fun read with some good themes about family and relationships.

If you love low angst books, this is a must read for you. It was sweet and fun and entertaining, as any Helena Hunting novel is.

There isn’t enough wine or ice cream in the world to convince her things will turn around.

When Blakely meets Slade Henderson, she’s left wondering why an early-thirties, hotter than hell, cardiothoracic surgeon would take an interest in her.

She’s been warned that he’ll break her heart, but she’s willing to take the chance. Not only is he helping her get that promotion, but in the process, he’s encouraging her to find the parts of herself she’s lost over the past few years.

Slade shows her that good guys really do exist, but who knew the hardest part about turning forty would be realizing the man you thought was a rebound, is actually your happily ever after?

#CoverReveal “When You Come Back to Me” by Emma Scott

Emma Scott has revealed the cover for When You Come Back To Me!

Releasing: September 6, 2020

At Santa Cruz Central High School, they called them the misfits, the outcasts, the weirdos. But most of us knew them as the Lost Boys…

Holden Parish survived his parents’ horrific attempts to make him “the perfect son.” After a year’s stint in a Swiss sanitarium to recover, he has vowed to never let anything–or anyone–trap him again. Brilliant but broken, he seeks refuge behind alcohol, meaningless sex, and uses his wicked sense of humor to keep people away. He only has to ride out one year in the coastal town of Santa Cruz with his aunt and uncle before he inherits his billions and can make his escape. Disappear.

Falling in love is not in the plans.

River Whitmore. Star quarterback of the Central High football team, Prom King, Mr. Popular, ladies’ man. He leads the perfect life…except it’s all a lie. His father has River’s future in the NFL all planned out, while River’s dream is to run the family business in the town that he loves. But his mother’s illness is tearing the family apart and River is becoming the glue that holds them together. How can he break his father’s heart when it’s already shattering?

River’s carefully-crafted façade explodes when he meets Holden Parish. A guy who dresses in coats and scarves year-round, drinks expensive vodka, and spends his free time breaking into houses for the fun of it. They’re complete opposites. River seeks a quiet life, away from the spotlight. Holden would rather have dental surgery than settle down.

Holden’s demons and River’s responsibilities threaten to keep them apart, while their undeniable attraction crashes them together again and again, growing into something deep and real no matter how they resist.

Until one terrible night changes everything.
