 My musings…

It is no secret that I love all things J. Daniels, particularly her heroes. They are sexy, possessive alphas, and while Stitch is all of those things, he broke me and crushed my heart. But Bad for You isn’t just about the heartbreak and self-doubt, it is about realizing your worth and no one is more worthy than Sean.

Sean is my favorite hero from Daniels (I’m so sorry Reese. It was a good run), but this man broke me down. Like Shay, I wanted to reach into this screen and hug him and show him how wonderful he is. Hearing all the ways he was beat down hurt my heart, fissures spreading out with each detail she told us about him. Although he is broken, he heals, and with each moment that stitches his heart back together, he becomes the man Shay has always seen Beneath his gruff surface.

Shay is light. Sean is completely correct in his assessment of her. This woman is goodness and positivity, utterly selfless for those she loves and willing to fight for any of them. Her heart and capacity to love knows no limits. The way J. Daniels wrote Shay puts readers in her shows and we feel everything she does – the love for her family, her fierce protectiveness of Sean, her endless compassion for others. She is my absolute favorite Daniels heroine.

Bad for You is a romance, a slow burn of epic proportions, but it is so much more. This is a story of redemption. It is a story healing, of facing an awful past, recovering from abuse, and seeing worth inside. This journey is unbelievably beautiful and poignant, and I never ever wanted it to end! I want more Shalya, more Stitch, more of the love that filled my heart watching them. Just more. No amount of words would have been enough with these two.

With Bad for You, J. Daniels has reached a new level. Her romances have always been sexy and fun, and while there are moments like this, it is not the scorcher like her other books because this book is more than just entertaining and hot. It is a beautiful story of loving yourself, and it is one that should be read by all.

He didn’t want to be bad. He just didn’t have a choice…

Shayla Perkins isn’t the kind of girl who makes the same mistake twice, especially when it comes to Sean “Stitch” Molina. So when he gives her the world’s biggest rejection, that’s it–she’s done. Until the sexy, silent, unavailable Sean makes Shay a very personal offer. Of course, it still doesn’t mean he’s interested in her. Or does it?

Sean has done things in life. Bad things. And he’s paid the price. All he wants now is to make up for his past by doing good in the present. And no one deserves more good than Shay. Beautiful on the inside and out, Shay is the kind of woman who should be cared for and protected–especially from a man like Sean. He’s tried to keep his feelings for her in check, but a single, reckless impulse pulls them closer than ever before.

Soon the two are sharing their biggest dreams and satisfying their deepest desires. But what will happen if the only way to truly give each other what they want most…is to let each other go?
