Ego Maniac (A standalone novel)
#1 New York Times Bestselling Author Vi Keeland
A Contemporary Romance
5 Fight for Forever CROWNS
Vi Keeland has completely blown me away with EGOmaniac. I expected sexy. I expected a story that would entertain. I expected a conceited hero I can’t resist. I expected a heroine I would adore. Did Vi Keeland deliver? Yes! Yes, she did, but her story gave me so much more than all of this. It gave me heat and romance, complex characters I loved, and a plot line that kept me smiling, swooning, and fanning myself after witnessing Drew’s dirty mouth and mind and his heart!
These characters are so three dimensional and well-developed, but of the two main characters, I was surprised by Drew’s depth the most. Based on the synopsis, teasers, and excerpts, I expected the typical playboy womanizer, and Drew fully meets all of these characteristics. He walks the fine line between arrogance and confidence, which comes across as incredibly attractive, and he has no qualms admitting he takes pleasure in one-night stands or his utter disbelief in real love lasting. But when readers are able dig below the surface of Drew’s character, they will see that there is so much more to this man. His past and his profession shape his ideas about relationships and how he behaves, but a special relationship shows that he has the capability for love, which makes readers hope that he will be able to transfer his ability to love from that person to our heroine, Emerie. Just like Drew, I love this woman! She has the perfect blend of sass and naivety. She has not allowed her job to make her jaded, and she holds out hope for love, real love. She believes in the goodness of people and the possibility of real love. Her growth and development during the novel makes me adore her even more, as she finally puts her so-called friend in his rightful place and chases after the man that lights a fire inside her. Her new found strength and recognition of what she deserves as a result of her interactions with Drew makes her a heroine to love.
The chemistry between the Drew and Emerie is electric. Physically, they set the room on fire with her ability to be vulnerable with Drew and his dirty mouth, but this is to be expected from a Vi Keeland book. What this couple does have, though, is the emotional and personal chemistry that can sometimes be lacking in a book. Vi Keeland, however, writes witty banter that makes every interaction laced with this unspoken energy and attraction, making their energy completely potent and intoxicating.
I love this story, every single word, every single line, and every single page. From the very beginning, Vi Keeland pulls readers into the story with the antics that ensue in the first chapter and the natural chemistry between the characters. The interactions with secondary characters brings in the conflict of the story, leaving the two main characters, who readers will love, untarnished by climax and falling action of the story. With EGOmaniac, Vi Keeland has pulled together a story that will have readers rooting for these two not only to get the HEA they deserve with each other but also the HEA they deserve with the other people they care about.
EGOmaniac is pure reader perfection! Steamy, sexy, romantic, fun, and entertaining with its fantastically developed characters, engaging plot, romantic themes, making this book my FAVORITE Vi Keeland book to date and top read of 2017.

The night I met Drew Jagger, he’d just broken into my new Park Avenue office.
I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills.
He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing.
Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant.
Only, turned out, he wasn’t an intruder at all.
Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office. He’d been on vacation while his posh space was renovated.
Which was how a scammer got away with leasing me office space that wasn’t really available for rent.
I was swindled out of ten grand.
The next day, after hours at the police station, Drew took pity on me and made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. In exchange for answering his phones while his secretary was out, he’d let me stay until I found a new place.
I probably should have acted grateful and kept my mouth shut when I overheard the advice he was spewing to his clients. But I couldn’t help giving him a piece of my mind.
I never expected my body to react every time we argued. Especially when that was all we seemed to be able to do.
The two of us were complete opposites. Drew was a bitter, angry, gorgeous-as-all-hell, destroyer of relationships. And my job was to help people save their marriages.
The only thing the two of us had in common was the space we were sharing.
And an attraction that was getting harder to deny by the day.
