4 Heart-Worthy CROWNS
The Hearts series was my first introduction to L.H. Cosway’s writing, and I instantly fell in love with not only the characters and their stories but her writing style. Each part of these series is connected and yet so widely unique and different. Hearts on Air, while not as unique as previous stories in the series, still offers interesting characters who are complex and original.
Trev is the youngest of the Cross siblings and has always been a bit unreliable. Throughout the novel, the reader gets to see what has driven him to behave in this fashion, and they get to see a more mature version. Getting to see Trevor struggle to maintain this more dependable persona makes him a three-dimensional character who readers will love and sympathize with. He becomes more than the reckless bad boy encountered in the previous books. Part of the catalyst for his change is Reya. She became an incredibly complex character during this book. The revelations about her past explain the insecurities she faces today, but with the addition of her lyrics and singing, readers get a whole new side to this heroine.
Hearts on Air , without a doubt, is a slow burn. Trev and Reya have to navigate and overcome several obstacles to find each other again. Not only do they have a past together as a couple, but they also have their own personal demons that they are fighting in order to be better for each other. L.H. Cosway takes her time in allowing them to heal separately and together, building the relationship into something real and solid. Because of the struggle to get back together, there seemed to be a lack of conflict readers come to expect in romances, and, while this is often a sticking point for me in a book, I would have been angry if she broke them up, even if it was just for s short time, after all it took them to reconnect. Readers of the series will fall in love with the ending though. It is sheer perfection.
This slow burn romance was wonderful to read. With the complex characters, readers get to see a realistic and incredibly sweet friends to lovers story. Readers also get introduced to a new host of characters who will be kicking off her new series, and I cannot wait for that.

3 weeks. 5 cities. 15 impossible stunts. One reality show.
Trevor Cross came into Reya Cabrera’s world with a bang and faded out with a whimper. They vowed to make it work, but life had other plans. After chasing his TV dreams for years, Trev finally became the UK’s next big reality star, but he alienated his family and friends in the process. Now he finally has everything he ever wanted. Women. Money. Fame. But none of it means anything when he doesn’t have the one thing that matters most: love.
Money leaves a gaping hole. Fame surrounds him with loneliness. And no woman makes him feel like Reya used to before the whirlwind of success pulled them apart.
He has a plan to get her back. However, with a hectic filming schedule looming, the only way to do that is to convince her to come on the road with him. Reya has been stuck in a rut for a while, and the opportunity to travel across Europe and play her music for new audiences seems like heaven. The only catch? She has to do it with the one boy who ever got close enough to break her heart. But he’s not a boy anymore, and as she gets to know him again she can’t deny her respect for the man he’s become.
Every time she’s around him her heart feels full of air, like a balloon about to pop. Little does she know, Trev’s feelings are just as tumultuous as hers. One thing’s for sure, these three weeks on the road together will either make them whole again or break them irrevocably.
**Hearts on Air is a contemporary romance and book #6 in the Hearts series, however it can also be read as a complete standalone.**
