LOST BOY is not like anything I was expecting it to be. With Noah coming from the same MC as Creed and knowing the back story, I expected more violence and danger, and, to be honest, a bit more sit on the edge of my seat. What I got instead is a sad tale of a lost boy and girl who love each other but can’t seem to get it right.
Noah Jameson kind of broke readers’ heart if they read The Road to Nowhere and It Ends Here (if you haven’t, you don’t need to). Readers nearly demanded Noah get his HEA. I didn’t expect to travel Noah’s life with him, to see him be that trouble making boy into a dirty talking man. Noah is so broken, and it broke me a bit to see him so beat down. Another aspect of his character that o was expecting was a bit more dirty talking Uber hot scenes. I don’t know if Creed and Martinez ruined, but Noah’s level of dirty seemed a bit tame to me. I did ultimately love his character, but his brokenness took center stage.
The other aspect of the book that I didn’t expect is Skylar is just a broken. There wasn’t a whole lot to counteract the sadness and loss Noah already exuded. As a younger girl, she might have, but like all the roles she plays, her happiness is fabricated and there is a whole lot of loss and manipulation that makes her character just as lonely and scared and broken as the hero.
This story is a bit of a slow burn. These two meet you and year’s span between chapters at times. Their relationship, although attracted to each other, isn’t if the dirty and hot variety until much later. Their journey, though, is more about how the world has beat them down, how they find solace in each other, and how they have to strip down to find real love with each other. I will say that I’m not sure I was expecting the twist at the end. It did seem a bit out of left field, but not so much that I was turned off from the story.
Overall, I enjoyed the story. It is a different tone then the previous Robinson books I’ve read, but I enjoyed the topics and issues she address and the HEA she gives these two lonely, abandoned, and broken souls.
In true Robinson fashion, though, she leaves with a bit of the next book, and I’m already excited to see what is to come.

“You got what you wanted, so you can go now. Because I can’t stand fucking looking at you any longer!”
I reached for her on pure impulse. “Skyler—” As soon as she felt my strong arm’s wrap around her waist, she kneed me in the balls.
“We’re even now, because I hate you too.”
I groaned in pain, and in her fuck-me heels, she took off running toward the exit. Breathing through the dis-comfort for a moment, I hauled ass after her. My boots pounding the wet pavement, chasing her in the pouring rain. Catching up with her outside the back of the dark building.
I gripped her arm and roughly turned her toward me, never expecting what happened next.
“No!” she shouted bloody murder, once again shoving me as hard as she could. She didn’t falter, losing her fucking shit on me. “I loved you!” She ignored the sting I knew her hand must have felt every time it connected with my face and body. Hitting me anywhere she could.
I tried blocking each and every blow, driving her further to push and hit me harder. Taking out every malicious word I’d said to her, and years of pent-up anger with herself, on me.
“I fucking loved you!”
“Cutie, calm the fuck down,” I ordered, trying to grip onto her wrists.
“Fuck you!” she yelled, punching and shoving me more, the closer I came toward her. “You don’t know anything! Nothing!”
Raising her hand up to slap me across the face, I gripped onto her wrist and spun her around before she could react. She lost her footing which only made it easier for me to carry her up into my arms. Striding over to the nearest car that appeared abandoned in a secluded corner of the alley.
“Stop it,” I warned, controlling her body from thrashing around. Pissing her off even more.
“You stop it! Put me down!”
And I did, slamming her ass on the hood. Taking ahold of both her wrists with my hand and placing them above her head. I pinned her down, and still she fought with every ounce of courage she had left in her.
“For fucks sake, stop!”
“Well then, I’m just gonna havta fuck the fight right out of ya.”
“Don’t you dar—”
My lips crashed onto hers, slipping my tongue into her mouth. Demanding complete and utter control. She weakly thrashed around, and I held her tighter against my chest, kissing her fucking senseless.
Groaning against her lips, “Fuck… I missed you…”
