5 Don’t Let Me Go CROWNS
Rip. Tear. Shred. This is how my heart felt reading this book. Watching Adele and Nathan fall apart was agony, completely and utterly soul destroying. This story, these words are exactly how an author should make a reader feel.
These characters, Adele and Nathan, are written in such a raw and realistic way. What I really enjoy most about these characters is that they are flawed, and Alex Lucian never attempts to hide their flaws or make excuses for them. Adele owns who she is and, to be honest, this is one of the many reasons I love her as a heroine. She has balls and takes what she wants. Nathan. What can I say about him? He is great. Just like Adele, his flaws stem from his past, but unlike Adele he doesn’t seem to be aware of them and how they are affecting his relationship with her. Trust me, he will make up for this during the course of the book. Nathan’s actions during the falling action and resolution of the book only solidify what a fantastic hero he is, plus he is a hot English professor with a dirty mind, mouth, and body in the bedroom. What more could a reader ask for? Together, this couple together is pure fire. Their chemistry just emanates off of the pages. I truly enjoy reading about them.
This plot I was not expecting at all. If you have read the blurb, you can obviously tell something happens to them of epic proportions, but I wasn’t expecting it. Alex Lucian’s ability to take this sensitive subject and to convey the fallout for a relationship is incredibly authentic. The fact that I have never experienced anything close to what these two characters experience in this book, yet am able to feel for them speaks to the quality of writing. The climax of the story ripped my heart from chest, and, even though, I saw it coming, it didn’t make reading the scene any easier. Their story kept my riveted to my Kindle, as I needed to see how their story would play out.
This is truly a phenomenal story. I loved every single minute I spent with Adele and Nathan, and, even though my heart was beaten and battered by Alex Lucian, it was left whole by the end. With her incredible ability to write fantastic and engaging characters and stories, she will certainly continue to be one of my go-to authors.

Coming home to a quiet, dark house.
Meals by myself, because she was already done.
Excuses and apologies, they were never enough.
But even with that, when I touched her—when she arched under me and pulled me deeper— we couldn’t get back to where we needed to be.
Where we used to be.
It was all frustration.
Because even though she was no longer my student, the chemistry was always there.
Adele and I loved each other.
We thought we were unshakeable.
But love isn’t always enough.
It wasn’t enough when I constantly disappointed her.
It wasn’t enough when loss cleaved us in two.
And when she left me, love was not enough.
She didn’t know yet that I’d never stop fighting for her.
But she would.
**Author’s note- Let’s be real clear that this is BOOK TWO of a duet, and you’re going to want to read Tempting before you read this one. Adele and Nathan started their story in that book, and you’ll get the same sex, fighting, and cursing that you did in the first. But if you want it to make sense, read Tempting first. If any of that offends you, please avoid them both.**
