Written With You, the emotional and highly anticipated conclusion to The Regret Duet from USA Today bestselling author Aly Martinez, is available now!

Sarah’s Musings…

Words just evade me for this one. Written with You was an emotional journey I wasn’t read for, and yet I relished every single moment with this couple and the most adorable Rosalee.

Caven and and his lady (named removed for spoilery reasons) are just broken, flawed, tragic, but what I love most about these books is that there is healing. These two have experienced one of most tragic events possible. They have been beaten down by it, but they have also shown immense strength in their growth and evolution and quest for happiness. Book 2 of the duet starts off directing after a shocking cliffhanger, and I couldn’t have even guessed where this story was going to go.

What I did expect was more brilliant writing and more of an epic romance that healed and made these two broken souls whole, and Aly Martinez delivered in SPADES! My words truly will not do this story justice. The themes behind this romance are more than just applicable to victims. They are universal and meaningful, and these types of stories are the ones that show the romance can have a voice that screams loud and clear with messages about life not just about love.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

Tricia’s Musings…

5 crowns

After the jaw dropping ending in Written with Regret I couldn’t wait to dive into Written with You. There was no way I was putting this story down till I’d finished it and I read it in one sitting. It’s almost impossible to review without spoilers for the first book, so I’m going to be vague.

From the beginning these characters clearly had a lot to work through but a Freudian slip opens up a whole other can of worms and sets in motion a series of events that neither of them could possibly have anticipated. If you thought the twists and turns and revelations were mind bending in book one, believe me they were just the tip of the iceberg. The plot is intense, so unexpected and unpredictable, I was consumed by it. I can honestly say I didn’t see a thing coming. I gasped so many times, I had to keep making a conscious decision to close my mouth, or risk catching flies!

In amongst all the turmoil is actually a beautiful love story. There is a real pull between this couple, a visceral and undeniable connection. I read somewhere that connection is the magic that is born out of souls feeling at home when they are with each other. For me, this describes these characters to a T. They heal each other with their forgiveness and compassion and their lives are so intertwined, they surely were meant for each other.

I loved every minute of this unforgettable duet. From the unique, unpredictable storyline to this author’s wonderful writing style, it ticked all the boxes for me. A definite top read of 2019.

When I was fifteen, a single bullet changed my life. I spent the next decade trying to outrun the devastation of my past, building an empire that would shield me from whatever life could throw at me.

But all the money in the world couldn’t help me when I found a screaming newborn abandoned on my doorstep.

I’d never wanted to be a father. Passing the sludge that ran through my veins down to an innocent child seemed like a tragedy. But there she was—pink cheeks, red hair, and mine.

Somehow, against all logic, that little girl became the best thing that ever happened to me. It was impossible to stay lost in the past when I was the only one who could protect her future.

Which is exactly why, when her mother came back four years later, I was ready for battle.

If only I could stop myself from falling in love with her during the war.

Every little girl dreams of the fairytale. The one where the white knight rushes in to save her from the clutches of evil. They fall in love, have babies, and live happily ever after.

By that definition, my life should have been a fairytale too.

When I was eight years old, Caven Hunt saved me from the worst kind of evil to walk the Earth. It didn’t matter that I was a kid. I fell in love with him all the same.

But that was where my fairytale ended.

Years later, a one-night stand during the darkest time imaginable gave us a little girl. It was nothing compared to the pitch black that consumed me when I was forced to leave her with Caven for good.

At the end of every fairytale, the happily-ever-after is the one thing that remains consistent. It wasn’t going to be mine, but there hadn’t been a night that passed where I hadn’t prayed that it would be hers.

I owed Caven my life.

However, I owed that innocent child more.

And that included ripping the heart from my chest and facing her father again.

About Aly

AlyWanderEdited.jpgOriginally from Savannah, Georgia, USA Today bestselling author Aly Martinez now lives in South Carolina with her husband and four young children.

Never one to take herself too seriously, she enjoys cheap wine, mystery leggings, and olives. It should be known, however, that she hates pizza and ice cream, almost as much as writing her bio in the third person.

She passes what little free time she has reading anything and everything she can get her hands on, preferably with a super-sized tumbler of wine by her side.
