I absolutely adore Helena’s books, every single one brings a smile to my face and has me laughing out loud throughout. And Kingston and Queenie’s book is no different, I am without a doubt head over heels in love with this story. Everything about it draws you in and holds you captive until the very last page. I could not put it down for anything, reading it cover to cover in one sitting.

“Man, I’m glad I don’t have to be all friendly and peppy this early in the morning like he does.” Bishop picks up a strip of bacon and folds it accordion-style into his mouth. “I’m not sure peppy is something you could achieve, even if you mainlined energy drinks and ecstasy,” I offer.

Ryan Kingston is the Ultimate book boyfriend I am Obsessed with him! This man is everything you could want, a Boy Scout in public and a dirty talking nympho in the bedroom. I wasn’t sure what we were going to get with him, because in the other books he seemed so reserved and for the most part he is. He just needed his perfect balance to come in and shake up his world and that happens in the form of Queenie. Kingston is the most levelheaded man in the world he even drives under the speed limit for criminy sakes, but that just makes him that much more delectable. You just know that he will always be there no matter what, and that he’ll be the calm to any storm and that is the most attractive thing I have ever read.

“Just one more hit,” I think Ryan Kingston could be my drug of choice.

Queenie is a mess but an adorable mess. She can’t quite get her life together but it’s not all her fault. This woman has had to deal with some less than stellar people in her world that have done all the could to dull her shine, and it’s worked. She doesn’t know what she wants to do, and her self-esteem is lacking in the worst way. Kingston is exactly what she needs. He is that calm that she needs to her cyclone of a personality. And she absolutely needs his stability. She may be a hot mess, but I loved her because she was so real. She is what so many of us are a mess just trying to figure things out. Helena wrote her with such a pragmatic quality that you can’t help but connect to her on some level. I think at one point everyone has felt as out of control of their lives as she does and it’s that realness that you can relate to. And, watching as she slowly grows and learns her worth not from what others say, but from within is the most satisfying thing to read.

“I’ve been waiting for months to get back into your bedroom.” I arch up and nibble his bottom lip. “Lock the Boy Scout in the closet and let yourself off your leash, King.”

Helena has this way of writing characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. Every time I read one, I think this one is my favorite and then she writes a new book and that one becomes my favorite, it’s quite the cycle. But the one thing I know for certain is every time I read one of her stories I’m going to get completely lost to her words and fall in love. Helena is Queen of sports romance, with her uncanny ability to make her characters so real and relatable you feel like you could easily be friends with them in real life. So, if you love sweet, sports romances with laugh out loud moments, that will leave you with a perpetual smile on your face, then this story is for you!!

KINGSTON and Queenie are quite charming, and their story was very low angst, but I loved the theme behind the story, finding the calm to your chaos.

Kingston is exactly the man we have met throughout the series – calm, good, understanding. We see this more than ever in the book. He is the anchor for his friends and Queenie.

Queenie is the younger of the two characters, and she is a bit lost, running from her problems – all characteristics of young people who have some external issues. I loved her energy and her overall goodness.

The overall plot was great. There were elements with the mom I felt could have been amped up to help make Queenie’s issues more authentic. I loved the concept that King and Queenie are made for each other, their differences balancing each other out. There is a romantic ideology behind it that I loved. While there was a conflict, it did feel a bit even for me, a study run throughout for them.

I did really enjoy seeing everyone. I have come to really enjoy this new crew, getting to see Alex and Violet, and enjoying Helena’s writing. As always, I excited to see what else is in store from one of my favorite romcom writers.

Hunting-A Secret for a Secret-28672-PB-FT.jpg

From New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting comes a new romance about trading secrets, breaking the rules, and playing for keeps.

My name is Ryan Kingston, and I’m a rule follower. I’ve never been in a fistfight. I always obey the speed limit. I don’t get drunk, and I definitely don’t pick up random women at bars.

Except the night I found out that my whole existence has been a lie.

I got drunk. And picked up a stranger.

Her name was Queenie, and she was everything I’m not: reckless, impulsive, and chaotic. We did shots and traded secrets. And ended up naked at my place.

She left me a thank-you note in the morning and her panties as a parting gift. But no way to contact her.

Six weeks later I’m sitting in the first official team meeting of the season, and there she is. I neglected to mention that I’m the goalie for Seattle’s NHL team.

And Queenie? Turns out she’s the general manager’s daughter.
