Their greatest risk was the one they never took …
Defying Gravity, an all-new emotional standalone sports romance from USA Today bestselling author K.K. Allen is available now!
4 Gravitational CROWNS
I have been waiting for this story since reading Falling from Gravity in the Spring Fling Anthology. And it did not disappoint. K.K has created a beautiful story filled with a good dose of angst and second chance romance that will melt your heart I fell in love with Tobias and Amelia in Falling from Gravity and could not wait to finish their journey. Their love is a breath of fresh air.
“He kissed me with saltwater lips, drinking me in like a starved man lost at sea.”
I absolutely love Tobias he’s so sweet and amazing with Amelia. What started as a spring fling turned into so much more. His character goes through a lot, he learns some devastating news and must learn to come to terms with his new normal. He’s lost for a long time until Amelia brings him back from his spiral. Their love was so innocent and fresh, it just flowed naturally and easily. They tried to deny that what they had was more. But their kind of love can only be denied for so long. Life ends up getting in the way and they are separated, however, during this time Tobias never stopped loving Amelia and trying to come back to her. Tobias was perfection and the way he loves Amelia will melt your heart ***insert serious swooning***
“She became my moon, guiding me through the darkness, illuminating hope when I’d thought all was lost.”
Amelia is incredible she knows what she wants and goes for it. K.K wrote her with this quite strength that you can’t help but relate to. Amelia goes through some terrible things on the path to her dream. And like Tobias she must come to terms with how things are and find a new path that is healthier for her. When she goes through her rough transition it really hit’s home with what many women deal with regarding body issues. And I absolutely love the way K.K handled the situation. It made me respect Amelia on a different level. She knows she needs to take care of her, and she takes the hard steps to do that. Her strength and resilience are awe inspiring. And just like Tobias even though they aren’t together she never stops loving him.
“Our love wasn’t just written in the stars. Our love was the stuff stars and planets were made of.”
I loved this story so hard. The struggles they endure and the steps that they had to take to be together were emotional to watch. They are perfection together and even though life pulls them apart and issues get in the way, they ultimately find there way back to each other. This story takes you through all your emotions and grips your heart in a fist. But the love that comes from the pages has you flying through the story to find out what happens. Once you start you won’t be able to put it down. Go read this story you will not be disappointed with Tobias and Amelia; you will fall in love with them as I have.
ARC received in exchange for an honest review.
It was an accidental spring fling three years ago—one week spent in the mountains of Big Sur and no one was the wiser. Ignore the fact that Tobias James was my neighbor and my best friend’s older brother. Or that upon our return his hoop dreams were waiting for him, robbing us of any potential future we could have shared.
Now, I’m fulfilling my own dreams in L.A. and my biggest dream of all is about to come true. The last thing I expected was for my past and my present to collide.
Not now. Not here. Not him.
But he struts back into my life like he never even left. Unfortunately, I’ll never forget what happened after he did.
The ball is in my court, but Tobias isn’t below stealing—my power, my resolve, my heart… When he wants a second chance to reignite our connection, my answer is simple. We can’t.
Not unless we defy the rules our dreams were built on and risk everything.
