“Witty, sexy as all hell, and addictive like no other, Staci Hart BRINGS IT with Bad Penny.”

Bad Penny, an all-new romantic comedy standalone from Staci Hart is now LIVE!
5 Bad CROWNS
Bad Penny might be my absolute favorite Staci Hart novel I’ve read. Not only does it comprise great writing and pacing, but it also has my favorite type of heroine. Her entire persona made the novel that much better.
Penny is fiercely independent, even if it comes from a place of insecurity. I love her dedication to who she is with little to no apology. I love that she has no shame in her behavior, in her desires, and in her opinions. Her insecurities and her unwillingness to put herself, emotionally, on the line is at times frustrating, making the reader sympathetic to Bodie, but part of Penny’s charm is that she isn’t that perfect heroine readers often encounter in romance novels. She is crazy, messed up, and flawed, and this makes her one of the best heroine’s encountered in a long time.
Bodie really is the best hero for Penny. He is compassionate and easy going, the perfect heart ninja. He knows and understands Penny. He works his way into her heart without scaring her. Although some may perceive him as being weaker for conforming to what she wants, he does stand his ground with her when she pushes him too far. This makes Bodie that perfect blend of understanding and dominant.
The chemistry between these two is electric, first physically then emotionally. The conversations between the two is easy, and it really leads to showcasing how these two are more than the lust filled encounters they are at the beginning.
The pacing of the plot in this story is perfect. Staci Hart begins the relationship with these two following the rules Penny sets up. It is steamy and lust filled hook-ups, but it quickly becomes mores. These casual conversations with each other in the moments after being intimate are what really solidify their relationship as something more, something real. The conflict of the story is one that readers would expect based on the characterization developed by the author, but the falling action was brutal and a little unexpected in regards to the character reaction. The resolution, however, is perfect.
Staci Hart continues to be a one-click author. I love how her stories are all different and unique. I never get the canned trope or same story-line from her, and I absolutely cannot wait for more.
Nothing good comes after the third date.
See, date three is the crucial point when things get real, which is exactly why I bounce out the door, twiddling my fingers at whatever poor boy I’ve left behind. Because if I stick around, one of three things will happen: he’ll profess his undying love, he gets weird and stalky, or I’ll go crazy. Like, Sid and Nancy crazy. Like, chase-him-through-the-streets-begging-him-to-love-me crazy.
Seriously, it’s better for everyone this way.
So when I meet Bodie, I figure it’ll be the same as it ever was. It doesn’t matter that he doesn’t put a single string on me. Doesn’t matter that he’s funny and smart and jacked and can play my body like a grand piano. Because even though I’m built for love, love has only carved me up like a Christmas ham.
Resistance is something I can only hang on to for so long, and he has persistence in spades. But my heart isn’t as safe as I want to believe, and neither is his. And the second I ignore my cardinal rule is the second I stand to lose him forever.

About the Author:
Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life — a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can’t forget that. She’s also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She’s been a wife, though she’s certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She’s also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she’s been drinking whiskey.
From roots in Houston to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.
