 My musings…

5 LOVE TO HATE YOU CROWNS

Is there anything better than an R.S. Grey novel?  They are always sweet, romantic, and so much fun to read.  I have loved every single book this author has written, and Anything You Can Do is just another shining example of the excellence that is R.S. Grey.

The chemistry and banter between Daisy and Lucas makes the entire story.  From the very beginning, the animosity between them sizzles and crackles with clear affection.  The constant picking on and one-upping each other clearly comes from affection, and it is so much fun trying to watch these two bicker and fight their attraction for one another.  Both of these characters are incredibly likable as well, which only serves to increase reader investment in the story.

This enemies to lovers romance encompasses everything I love in the trope and everything I love in a R.S. Grey novel.  The characters are lovable, and even when they are playing some childish pranks on each other, it is their thing.  It is the way the show affection for one another, the way the communicate, and the way their relationship develops and changes throughout the novel.  The one aspect of the novel that I completely love is the plot choice made in regards to the conflict.  To prevent any spoilers, I am not going to say specifically what is different, but it was refreshing to read a story with a bit of twist on the traditional romance plot line. The ending the R.S. Grey leaves the readers with will have them smiling, because not only does she give readers the HEA they want but she also does it in a way that is true to the characters.

R.S. Grey continues to be one of my favorite romance writers.  I love that she takes chances with her writing, that each of her stories are incredibly different.  Her voice is unique and fresh, and I never quite know what to expect from each new book that she composes.  What I do know, though, is that it will be excellently written, with lovable characters, and my heart will find happiness within the pages of her book.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

Lucas Thatcher has always been my enemy.
It’s been a decade since I’ve seen him, but our years on opposite coasts were less of a lasting peace and more of a temporary cease-fire. Now that we’re both back in our small town, I know Lucas expects the same old war, but I’ve changed since high school—and from the looks of it, so has he.
The arrogant boy who was my teenage rival is now a chiseled doctor armed with intimidating good looks. He is Lucas Thatcher 2.0, the new and improved version I’ll be competing with in the workplace instead of the schoolyard.
I’m not worried; I’m a doctor now too, board-certified and sexy in a white coat. It almost feels like winning will be too easy—until Lucas unveils a tactic neither of us has ever used before: sexual warfare.

The day he pushes me up against the wall and presses his lips to mine, I can’t help but wonder if he’s filling me with passion or poison. Every fleeting touch is perfect torture. With every stolen kiss, my walls crumble a little more. After all this time, Lucas knows exactly how to strip me of my defenses, but I’m in no hurry to surrender.

Knowing thy enemy has never felt so good.

I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had it my way I would be curled up on the couch with all of those things… everyday.
I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authImage result for rs greyors are Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I’m a comedy geek and love all things “funny”. Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.

Happy reading,
