 My musings…

Flow, the prequel to Grip, completely captured my heart and soul.  Each word is so beautiful, each character is so deep and complex, and each plot line makes it so much more than a typical romance. It all makes Flow a must read. Like right now, drop everything you are doing, and ignore any responsibilities you may have because Grip and Bristol are waiting.

These two characters are engaging.  It is amazing to me how in the span of a novella, Kennedy Ryan is able to completely flesh out their characters and make them complex with their unique personalities and candor when talking with each other.  Although, their time together is short, readers can feel the emotion running through them.  What they are feeling, the anticipation, the longing,  and the attraction, all slides through the reader with every choice of diction Ms. Kennedy selects.  By the end of this novella, readers will be a hundred percent invested in this story, in these characters, and in their happily ever after.  I  know I need it, like I need air to breathe.

This story is so beautiful.  Their relationship is organic and natural, which lends itself to making the relationship be more than just a lust filled vacation fling.  This is real.  Grip and Bristol connect on a much deeper level, which is expertly conveyed by Kennedy Ryan with every single conversation and interaction the two have throughout the 14 chapters.  It is so real, that the reader feels everything these characters feel.  They fall with them, hurt with them, and hopefully, they will heal with them with them in the conclusion of their story. What I, personally, love most though about this book is that there are several relevant social commentaries made throughout the book, and not in a preachy way. Through the dialogue, Ms. Ryan sheds light on several issues that plague society, and just as the characters question their assumptions, the reader finds himself/herself doing he same.

I don’t have enough complimentary words to accurately convey how much I love this book! Every facet of the story is engaging, all the characters are brilliant, and each word is epically beautiful and poetic. I think I have found myself another new one-click author.

Praise for Flow

“Ryan continues her streak of amazingly accessible and authentic romantic fiction. Grip is a bold and unapologetic look at interracial romance and does not shy away from any of the ideals and prejudices that most of us are too polite to acknowledge – head on- amidst one of the sexiest, and provocative true love romances Ryan has penned to date. Break out the fans folks, Grip is aptly titled and sure to make you need a grip! — Sheena, Smexy Books

“Flow is the intro to an epic love song. It’s that first beat that has you stopping in your tacks and turning up the volume. The perfect cadence to a must-read prelude. 5 on top of the world stars!” -Mandi Beck, Bestselling Author of the Caged Love series and Stoned.

Resisting an irresistible force wears you down and turns you out.
I know.
I’ve been doing it for years.
I may not have a musical gift of my own, but I’ve got a nose for talent and an eye for the extraordinary.
And Marlon James – Grip to his fans – is nothing short of extraordinary.
Years ago, we strung together a few magical nights, but I keep those memories in a locked drawer and I’ve thrown away the key.
All that’s left is friendship and work.
He’s on the verge of unimaginable fame, all his dreams poised to come true.
I manage his career, but I can’t seem to manage my heart.
It’s wild, reckless, disobedient.
And it remembers all the things I want to forget.
