#ReleaseBlitz “Temporary” by Sarina Bowen & Sarah Mayberry

Temporary by Sarina Bowen & Sarah Mayberry

The most beautiful man I’ve ever seen is the same one who can ruin everything.

The first time I lay eyes on Callan Walker, I know he’ll be trouble. With his smug grin, hot Aussie accent and thousand dollar shoes, he’s just the kind of rich guy who always gets what he wants.

And he wants two things: a night of sin, and my cooperation as he outmaneuvers his powerful mother to take control of his uncle’s estate.

I can’t afford either one. I’m the only thing standing between my little sister and the foster care system. He may have money and charm on his side, but I have something even more powerful — pure desperation. This temp job at his mother’s company can become a full time job for me. It has to.

But when Callan’s eyes rake over my body, sometimes I forget my obligations. His piercing gaze finds the fun, optimistic girl I used to be and not the tired person I’ve become.

And it works–if only for a moment. Our night together was a mistake. I can’t afford to get sucked into his high-powered family’s treachery. But the closer I get to Callan, the more layers I find beneath those expensive clothes. Though I can’t forget this is temporary. He’s temporary. I have too much to lose.

Too bad my foolish heart didn’t get the memo…

Author Interview:

1. Co-writing books seems to be a popular trend in the romance world right now. What made you want to write together?
Sarah: For me, it was the chance to work with Sarina, who I really admire as a writer. I haven’t worked collaboratively with a novel before, although I do it all the time with my other writing life in TV scripts.
Sarina: When I was setting down goals for 2017, I asked myself which things in the past couple of years had brought me the most joy. And collaborating with Elle Kennedy was one of them! So I knew I needed more of that in my life.

2. Every writing duo creates their stories differently, so what was the writing process like for the two of you?

Sarah: We did some pre-planning and plotting, since we’re both plotters. As Sarina will attest, I am much more anal about the details than she is, but she was kind enough to bear with me. Then we started writing, and we simply passed the baton to each other at the end of each day. We worked in Google docs, so we only ever had one version of the file, and we could have side-bar chats in the margins to ask each other questions and make suggestions for future scenes/moments.

3. For readers who have not read Sarah Mayberry’s books or Sarina Bowen’s books, which one would Sarina recommend of Sarah’s and vice versa?

Sarah: My first Sarina Bown book was The Year We Fell Down. I adored it, and I re-read it again recently and found it just as funny, sweet, sexy, moving and emotional as I did the first time.
Sarina: I have read many of Sarah’s but most recently I found Tanner to be a terrific ride!

4. Who are your one-click authors and what book of his/hers would you recommend to readers?

Sarah: Lisa Kleypas is probably my all-time favourite romance writer.  I love Blue-Eyed Devil and Smooth Talking Stranger. Many of her historicals are also amazing.
Sarina: There are too many to count! Lately I’ve discovered Avon Gale and Roni Loren.

5. What is something most readers don’t know about you?

Sarah: I like to sew. When I was studying, I used to convert vintage clothings finds (a bit like Grace!) and design my own things. I’ve recently taken it up again and am really enjoying making a mess.

Sarina: I loathe sewing. It’s so fussy, and I don’t have the patience. But I’m a very competent knitter. Knitting is so mathematical. You have to trust the algorithm but it always works out.

Happy reading,
