“Once the sun set on the winter solstice, Thunder Bay was lit almost entirely by fire–candles, lanterns, bonfires…”
5 Never Changing CROWNS
What is better than your favorite characters from one of your favorite series coming together at Christmas? Not one thing. Penelope Douglas has dropped the best kind of Christmas surprise, bringing all of our beloved Devil’s Night crew together in a Christmas celebration filled with the suspense and passion we’ve come to expect of the series.
Told from the POV of each of the guys, Penelope Douglas gives us glimpses into our favorite couples. We get the intimate moments, the worries as parents, and a glimpse into aspects of their kids.
On top of all of this, the author also provides us with a bit of suspense and mischief that comes with these characters and the world of power they have built. It may seem odd that Christmas is the backdrop for the plot line of Fire Night, but it works. We get to see these beloved characters celebrate a holiday and be a family, we see them come together as they do in times of need, and we see them love and cherish the lives they have worked so hard to build.
This novella was PERFECT, offering us a brief taste of a fictional family we have come to love so dearly as well as a glimpse of what might be coming (fingers crossed even if it is a long way in the future). It was the best holiday present!
The clock at St. Killian’s chimes as whispers float in the dark staircase above.
Snow falls from the black sky beyond the windows, and candles glow, the flames lighting up the longest night of the year.
Devil’s Night isn’t the only holiday we celebrate. Tonight, we’re pulling on a different mask.
Some call it Midwinter.
Others call it Yule.
We call it Fire Night.
*FIRE NIGHT is a 28K word holiday novella and takes place 10 months prior to the epilogue in Nightfall. All previous installments need to be read before this novella and are available in Kindle Unlimited
