Tricia’s Musings…

5 Emerald CROWNS

They say opposites attract and that’s certainly true when it comes to Dexter Daniels and Hollie Lumen (wonderful name by the way). They come from vastly different backgrounds but it soon became clear to me that they were made for each other.

The love of beautiful jewellery, the desire to bring innovative designs to life with dazzling gems, is what initially brings these two together, but their attraction runs deeper than mere chemistry, although there’s plenty of that too. They’re soon swept away on a tide of emotions, which takes them both by surprise. Neither looking for love, or a long term commitment, nevertheless they are drawn to each other and almost by default, decide to explore whatever is building between them, for however long it lasts. I absolutely loved them together and I loved Dexter’s fascination with Hollie and his encouragement of her creativity and talent. Pushing her forward, never holding her back. I don’t think I’ve read a story which was set in the jewellery world before, especially not one where the main character, in this case Dexter, was a jeweller. I loved the fascinating little peek we got into the world of high end jewellery and the people who design and create it.

Dexter is kind, hard working, caring and passionate, a real gentleman. And yes, I swooned! He’s met his match in Hollie and she certainly keeps him on his toes with her independence and feistiness, especially when his wealth starts to make her feel slightly uncomfortable. Their personalities, their humor, their values, complement each other perfectly. They’re good people and it shows in the respect they have for each other. They are a gorgeous couple, a great balance for one other, each forcing the other to face their truths. I loved the way their relationship progressed, but when things got a bit sticky, I just hoped they would both realise they were worthy of the love they hadn’t known they were looking for, before it was too late.

Ms Bay has a real talent for bringing us wonderfully descriptive, feel good stories and Mr Knightsbridge, both the man and the book, is an absolute delight.

Aundi’s Musings…

5 Zambian Emerald Crowns

Louise has done it again; without fail she captivates you with her words and has you falling head over heels in love with her characters. Dexter and Hollie’s love story is an emotional and oh so steamy ride that will make your heart bleed for them. I loved every minute of this thoughtful and entrancing romance.

Her words came out like rain, soaking through to my core.

Dexter is swoony deliciousness wrapped up in a delectable British package. His single-mindedness and drive propelled him to be the best a what he does. Dexter is trying to uphold his parent’s legacy by winning the competition to design the Finnish Princess’s wedding jewelry. His determination correlates into his romance with Hollie. When he meets her, she captivates him from the start and his need to know more about her and be with her drives him to heavily pursue her and get her to say yes to a date.

Apparently, Hollie Lumen was my kryptonite.

I loved Hollie she was so far out of her comfort zone, but she didn’t let that stop her from trying to fulfill her dreams and gain experience in the jewelry field. When she meets Dexter, he is unlike anyone she has ever met. He is charming and determined and treats her how she is meant to be treated. Even though she’s not used to being taken care of. In Hollie’s world she is the caretaker. So Dexter takes her by surprise when he does things for her and spends money on her. I loved that they came from two completely different worlds, but they fit together so seamlessly, balancing each other out in the best ways and completing each other.

“You’re touching me like you think I might not really be here,” she whispered.

I am obsessed with Dexter and Hollie’s story, their passion and commitment to each other is heartwarming and inspiring. They both have things that they need to overcome and baggage that brings them down, but ultimately their love is what pulls them through. Louise brings you a romance that will leave you lighter than when you started and keep a smile on your face. If you are looking for a light read that isn’t super angsty and will have you laughing, then this book is for you! Dexter and Hollie are PERFECTION!!

About ‘Mr. Knightsbridge’:

Dexter Daniels prefers gems over women. Emeralds over girlfriends. Diamonds over marriage.

He might be the most successful jeweler of his generation, a loyal friend and some say the most handsome man in London, but his past means he doesn’t deal in love.

When Hollie Lumen enters the ballroom where exquisite royal jewels are on display, she brings Dexter’s world to a screeching halt. Despite her hand-me-down dress and borrowed shoes, Hollie is even more stunning than the jewelry. Feisty, funny and ferociously independent, she’s all Dexter can see.

Hollie Lumen can’t catch a break. She thought an internship in London was her chance to escape her responsibilities back in Oregon and for her dreams to come true. When she’s fired only a few weeks after touching down, she’s ready to give up and go home. Hollie never asks for help. She knows the only person she can rely on is herself.

So what’s she going to do about the tall, dark, handsome stranger who keeps rescuing her?

Her books include the novels Faithful (not currently on sale as undergoing maintenance!), Hopeful, The Empire State Series, The Royals Series, The Nights Series (both series of standalone books each following different characters) and the standalone Gentleman series.

Ruined by romantic mini-series of the eighties, Louise loves all things romantic. There’s not enough of it in real life so she disappears into the fictional worlds in books and films.

Louise loves the rain, The West Wing, London, days when she doesn’t have to wear make-up, being on her own, being with friends, elephants and champagne.
