Aundi’s Musings…

5 Hockey Crowns

I don’t know how she does it but Tijan continues to write effortlessly addictive reads that grab hold of you from the start and don’t let go until you’re finished. Cut and Cheyenne are absolute perfection, these two couldn’t be more ideal and I died for their story. This book takes you on a deeper path, one that will have your heart aching and bring tears to your eyes. But it’s a journey that you don’t want to miss. This book has everything you could possibly want in a romance. Angst, check. Heart, check. Love, check. Tears, check. 6 times, double check!!

One of the things I love most about Tijan’s heroines is their individualities. She writes them so unique and quirky that you can’t help but relate to them on a deeper level and really connect with them, and Cheyenne is no different. This girl has gone through hell and back, but even though she’s been places that you could never understand it’s her view of the world that makes your heart ache for her. She’s not jaded or angry she’s sunshine and happiness, she views the world how I wish I could and because of that I fell in love with her character even more.

Cut is just Every. Single. Thing! His Alpha dominance and determination are so freaking sexy you can’t help but melt into a puddle every time he’s in the room. However, the thing that I loved the most was his connection to Cheyenne and his ability to just be exactly what she needed him to be. He didn’t push he didn’t expect things he accepted her from the start. That right there his acceptance of her was the hottest thing I’ve read in a long time. All around her people judged her the wrong way but not him never him and I loved that so much.

Tijan always writes these characters that burrow their way into your heart and soul. They’re not perfect by any means they are all beautifully broken but that’s what I live for when it comes to her writing. I live for the broken and damaged. I live for the angst and acceptance. I live for the way her characters always make me feel as if I’ve finally come home. Tijan is and will always be one of my favorite authors for this reason. This book will absolutely drag you through every single emotion and back, the visceral reaction that this book causes is so strong that your heart with physically ache. But in the end it’s a good kind of ache it’s the kind of ache that let’s you know you’ve just read and amazing story and that right there is beauty in itself.

Cutler Ryder was everything I wasn’t.
He was the hockey star. I was an outcast.
He was best friends with my stepbrother, that same stepbrother who hated me.
His two parents loved him. My mom was a junkie. My dad barely knew me.

Years passed.
I got my life together.
Cut went onto NHL stardom.

Then there was a text.
I was drinking.
There was a party.
Cut was there…

I loved Cutler Ryder since the first moment I saw him.
The only problem? He never knew I existed.
