I simply adore this story and these characters. If you have read my review, which was posted on Friday, then you are aware of how much, and, if you haven’t, then head over to my Reviews page and check it out.
The reason I selected this book to be featured again is because I just love it that much. The reader has no choice but to fall in love with Alice’s quirkiness and Rafe’s honor, and you will swoon over them as a couple. The plot keeps your love of the characters in tact, and the author never vilifies a character the reader loves to create conflict. Additionally, her word choice is fabulous. There are so many sentences and sections of this book highlighted because I just fell in love with her writing. And, finally, the movie and song references just added to the brilliance of the novel. It really added a layer the development of Alice as a character as Rafe and Alice as a couple.
The plot, the characters, the diction, the allusions to movies are just perfection. Kate Stewart has produced one of the best romantic comedy books I have ever read. If you haven’t picked it up, you need to have this book on your Kindle, so go buy it now!! What are you waiting for?
“She’s a nerd.”
“Okay, she’s a flight instructor.”
“He’s a ballplayer.”
“The best that ever was.”
“Technically, you aren’t according to MLB stats.”
“See? Total nerd. She also has no filter.”
“He’s no southern gentlemen.”
“I had one last season to prove my worth.”
“I’d never seen a game.”
“He told me he was a player.”
“She told me she was a lesbian.”
“But you fell in love with me anyway.”
“Yeah, baby, I totally did.”
